The ray of light here is that the WSL & the WPL are both run by the FA, at least it's not like the men's game with the Prem being totally independent from the FA. Pressure from WPL clubs & fans will make more of a difference. You complain, but the men's game has exactly the same issues at...

Oh, I agree ideally it'd be straight promotion\relegation, replicating the National league system steps 5\6 & 7\8, but that would require 4 relegations from WSL2 & two promotions of each WPL league to make sure the geography can be made to work. The WSL have only just allowed relegation at all...

This much, I knew! Ah, that makes some sense - I think I prefer the play-off system in the Women's game though as it's far simpler and easier to understand. It also seems more suited to the problem WPL/WSL have.

How does that work? For example there are 14 leagues on step 9 of the men's pyramid, but only 6 leagues on step 8. Promotions & relegations to and from different leagues must be different every season if there's no play-off system to make sure there's a fixed number of promotions\relegations...

It's because the league is split up into a Northern & Southern leagues, but only one team out of the two winners can get promoted - lots of men's leagues lower down the English pyramid have similar systems. It just happens so close to the top of the Women's football pyramid because they have no...

    Pre season 17/18

Hopefully, yes - particularly give the fixture list. And more a better first full half of the season than Koeman (including Christmas\December) - I'm not expecting the top 4 start that Poch gave us!

That's part of the reasoning I used to pick between SotonWFC & SaintsG&L - call me a glory hunter, but judging from their onle presence, SotonWFC seem to be better run & more sustainable as well as having recent success. I'll certainly be down at Testwood Stadium* to support them this season...

No, just tht it should hopefully be easier for him than it was for Poch or Koeman as he's already somewhat familiar with the league - you'd hope his experience means the learning curve will be far less steep.

Sounds like the Championship\EFL play-offs... That's why I was asking - to see how many people would be likely to post :emoticon-0100-smile. Perhaps We should wait until one\both clubs get to the WSL.

The first team coach according to that reliable source, Wikipedia but it amounts to the same thing & it'd slipped my mind, thanks

Given the discussion of Women's football, is there an appetite for a Southampton Women's football thread on here? The Lionesses relative sucess & Southampton Women's FC have persuaded me to follow them this season (or to be precise a few tweets and this podcast persuaded me...

He's been at Liverpool (admittedly as a player), unlike any of the others this isn't actually his first experience of the Premier league.

I recently found out there's a very high probability that there is, just not in the way you'd think: http://www.simulation-argument.com/computer.pdf also worth a listen: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08zb4d8

Transfer Rumours Saints Summer 2017 Transfer Rumour Thread

That's really harsh on Gazza - he had quality distribution and real potential in most other aspects of his game. He was very young, more so for a GK, when we threw him in the deep end & the crowd got on his back far too quick here. He had to leave us as eventually every first team game they were...

No contracts\transfer fees in Women's football? That's a tough position to be in, ouch! Yeah, I noticed that - I was highly tempted to email the WPL\FA & ask them if they wanted someone to modernise their website... There isn't a decent WPL fan site around, either. Or if there is, I couldn't...

Sounds familiar... Still sounds familiar... Again, all sounds familiar from just a few years ago from when we were in league 1 (or even now in that we regularly get torn to pieces), except that this time there's not even the football league show. But if I wanted glory and media attention I...

I'm a Saints supporter - how likely is it that I was ever going to be a glory hunter! :emoticon-0105-wink: And having a look at our local teams (admittedly only from their websites), I think the newly promoted Southampton Women FC look like they're building a proper professional outfit, moreso...
