    Hughes Out.

Decision would’ve been made after we lost to Fulham. Board probably been panicked by others picking up wins around us also. Flores has experience of the league and seems ok. Only thing i would say against sacking Hughes is that he does still seem to have the players on his side. Defensively...

Match Day Thread Saints at Leicester, Nov 27th at 7:45pm - Bleak and Awful EFL Cup Matchday Thread

Plus the VAR was crap. Never a deliberate handball, so we should’ve won.

Other than he is a striker and might nick a goal, which he nearly did. I’m not a fan of Hughes, and think he should’ve been sacked already, but I don’t think we can blame him for tonight. We were very unlucky.

    Hughes Out.

What’s the pointing in waiting for the inevitable? We won’t beat Man United or Spurs so just try and get someone in before the Cardiff game. (I’m not counting the Leicester game in the cup).

    Hughes Out.

We can write off those two games, so you’re right really. It’s just a shame we haven’t had an international break in recent weeks to allow us to make this change and get a replacement in with minimal disruption.......

Match Day Thread Fulham v Saints Saturday 24/11/18 3pm

Hughes deserves to be sacked solely for the fact he has played Hoedt every game this season in the league. The guy is evidently a useless liability.

Match Day Thread Southampton v Newcastle Saturday 27th October 3pm

Thought it would be good to compare Hughes’ record with Pellegrino, someone who I’m sure we all agree was dreadful manager for us. These are averages of course as Pellegrino managed 30 league games to Hughes’ 18 so far (although a good amount to judge I feel, with 10 this season). Points per...

Match Day Thread Leicester v. Southampton. Thursday 19th April 7:45pm

Clearly Hughes not to blame for us being relegated - but he got his substitutions badly wrong tonight. So negative in a game we had to win. Yes, 0-0 at Leicester would normally be decent, but not now. 1 win in 22 league games. Such negative football.

Why does it? I can see the results of deliberate government policy introduced under her authority, and I think it’s utterly disgraceful.

Worth emphasising the point that it was Theresa May who was in charge of the home department at the time the policy was introduced. In fairness to Rudd, her words yesterday were very strong in condemnation. Theresa May is an utter disgrace of a person.

I agree entirely with what Hughes says in this interview: https://t.co/FswN661wUB Plenty of encouragement.

Never a red card, he just pushed one of our players away. Another demonstration of an official who has lost control of a game.

Exactly - it wasn’t just a shirt pull and a yellow card, he held onto it even after Stephens had played the ball, and ripped it. Absolutely fuming.

With such force that Wilshere only took a second to get to his feet and shove Stephens in the back himself. Total inconsistency and shambolic officiating.

He pushed him in the back, then Kolasinic shoved him in the back - he should have been sent off as well then. Reminds me a lot of Rickie getting sent off against Brighton - El Ahbd grappled him and pulled him to the ground, and Rickie pushed him off him, and got a red from D’Urso. Referees that...

He pushed him in the back. That isn’t a red. I heard Howard Webb a few seasons ago talking about what constitutes a red card for violent conduct, and pushing in the back, is not a red. If Mariner seriously sees what Jack did as a red, and Wilshere pulling Stephens’ shirt for 10 seconds, then...

Transfer Rumours EPL eye Les Reed for new technical director

The article isn't very accurate anyway - we signed Schneiderlin under Lowe in 2008, a couple of years before Reed was on the scene. And I think most will agree that Pochettino was Cortese's man. We've had successes under Reed, but I do feel his role at Saints is grossly exaggerated in the...

Match Day Thread West Ham United vs Southampton 31/03/2018 3:00PM KO

Second goal, no? No one picked up arnautovic - second to the ball. But on a wider scale, Hoedt and Stephens have defended poorly for weeks. Can’t win a header, and not comfortable on the ball.
