Why has he got no boots on in those pictures? You would have thought he could afford boots or do you think Nicola took them away?
When Markus bought the club he told the media that he had got a bargain. He wasn't kidding. What gets me is that no one else could see this. Thank goodness because we got the best owner ever. Just wish he could have seen our promotion..his camera would have got red hot.
Yes. Did you realise that the background picture on the Saints Twitter page still shows everybody wearing the FlyBe.com kit..? Just thought I'd mention it. Free advertising and all that.
Imagine how we might be feeling if we were Arsenal fans. They desperately need a quality centre back (or two) and they have just signed another player who is 'one for the future' for 12 million AND he has never played above league 1 level!
Not sure how anyone can be too angry with Alex. While the circumstances of his departure are less than ideal, if the terms reported are correct, it's enough money to put the club on excellent financial footing...and potentially enough to get them over the hump and into the Premiership this year or next. That's a trade-off worth taking, even if he goes on to be worth £40 million in three or four years' time.
The ball in the photos will probably be the last one he'll kick for a while...he'll hardly be anywhere near 1st team for a long time yet
I think Saint_Lambden asks a perfectly valid question. I'll answer for you. No you weren't. You were shouting something akin to Come on Alex/OXO/Chambers or something else to that effect. Calling him a Skate now is just sour grapes. Or conversely, If you don't like him, you obviously didn't mind him leaving in the first place. And I'm not his bum boy neither.
I cant believe that Arsenal will end up paying 15mill for him! Well done Cortese! Arsenal have been completely ripped off - that amount of money for a teenager is ludicrous
But it's valid though isn't it? Just because he's signed for Arsenal he's a skate? We all know his Dad used to play for Portsmouth and will have had influence on his decision, mostly for his own (££££) benefits, but that doesn't automatically make Alex a skate. He's joined Arsenal, not Portsmouth.
