klopp presser Klopp on Matip saying no to Cameroon return: "We had that talk a few weeks ago. Players needs to make these decisions themselves." Klopp on Barca trip: "It was the best thing to do after losing a game. It was good for us to stay together. It's a nice place, sun shining." Klopp on Karius: "I only heard about harsh criticism. I analysed and 8 players could have defended the goal before Loris was involved." Klopp: "Even the best goalkeepers in the world make mistakes. De Gea made one similar recently. There is no perfect recipe for development." Klopp on Sturridge: "No idea when he will be back. Until now he hasn't trained. He's not with the team." Klopp on Sturridge: "He's not happy. That's the life of footballer. You can't force these things." Maybe today he will go on the pitch, but that means we’re starting football work on the pitch and not with the team, with the rehab coach Klopp: "I can't make timelines. What's the game after Middlesbrough? Everton? That would be nice but I have no idea." “You can’t force these things, it doesn’t matter the quality of the player. It’s not perfect with our situation with Phil and Danny.” “Hopefully he will be back as quick as possible - but I have no idea. “We don’t have to think about him for West Ham or Middlesbrough.. Maybe then but I have no idea. Barca trip again “It was a wonderful opportunity the club gave us. Any person needs a little bit of rest. You can’t push them through all the time.” Klopp : "In England with this intensive time ahead it was important to take the opportunity (to go to Spain). We used the time." Good food. Nice weather. All good! Bournemouth Klopp: "At 3-1 up we played one bad pass and they scored. They used that situation. It was our fault. We were responsible for it." Klopp: "We played good enough to win the game (at Bournemouth) until it slipped through our fingers. We were passive - not usual for us." “No concern (it might leave a mark on players). When you win a game like this it’s not certain you’re prepared for the next game. You don’t always win these games, sometimes you lose them. WEST HAM: For me it’s very important we keep playing how we played (at Bournemouth), with better defending of course! Klopp: "We will be angry (on Sunday). But West Ham will be a tough challenger - interesting game." Klopp: "Nobody would have expected WH's situation in table. They have had injuries. They all come back to play us but that's not a problem." Klopp: "West Ham want the points and that makes me angry just thinking about it." Klopp on Sheyi Ojo return “I said if he is doing well, then the door is open. But that’s how it is with all the players. My ears and eyes are always open. Klopp on Ojo: "The door is always open and we have to look at all our options. It's up to the players."
I had a dream we lost 2-1. For some reason the game was on a beach. I didn't see any of the match because I was constructing a giant jigsaw puzzle on the side of a nearby dune. Everyone was angry and it was definitely #seasonover
other presser comments: Klopp on Beale departure “No news on a replacement. I’m not used to doing this - I wish him all the best. It’s a very interesting challenge, I’m not sure I would have done it! It’s a big adventure.” Klopp on Beale: "We will miss him. He did a wonderful job here."
Klopp on what he learned at Bournemouth We’ve had a few similar problems in other matches that the opponent didn’t use. Klopp: "This game (v Bournemouth) helped us to understand what's wrong with our protection sometimes."
need to start quickly and if / when on top keep our foot on their neck & finish it off. This game has added importance if only to continue our momentum and reinforce our confidence. I just hope some thought has been given to game management which has been a fault of ours for some years now.
I'd drop Can for Lallana personally, but think he'll stick with the same midfield 3. Origi to start ahead of Lallana who'll get some time off the bench.
Lallana is an integral part of Klopp's pressing game. Unless there's a fitness issue I can't see him not being in there from the start.
Interesting to see what does with the team. Can's scored couple goals recently, so would he drop out for fit again Lallana who as been best midfielder for us this year? Does he continue to normal front 3, despite Firmino not being as effective out on the left? Could he move Lallana left and Firm back central? Would Lallana be as effective there compared to deeper? Last year he wasn't as good and he's said himself this year he's arriving in box later which has helped with the goals. Glad it's Klopp making the choice not me.
Meh. Still be on target for our aim of top 4 finish, just a little setback. Depends on other results as to how many loiterrs we get on our match thread
