I was going to post this before yesterday but a conversation with a scouser refreshed my thoughts on the topic.

How much would you sell Carroll for?? How much do you reckon Ashley would try and cash in on Carroll?

Reports have suggested £30m but in your honest opinion, if Torres was sold to Chelsea then Daglish turned to Newcastle and put down £40 for him, would he give in? Would you give in?

Personally I wouldn't sell him with like 24 hours left of the market to go, passion for your home town club is something that cant be bought. Maybe yes on Football Manager or Fifa but that's only cause those games cant channel that passion.

    What'd you reckon?

We wouldn't see much of that £40m so as a fan, I wouldn't take any amount of money for him. Mike Ashley on the other hand, would be interested by £40m for sure, that's just crazy money!

I personally would never sell Carroll, especially not now.

Who would replace him this close to the end of the transfer window, with Cashley not spending large quantities of money. Unless its on a casino (clearly more important).

Hopefully Dalglish wont look to Carroll. :)

£40? That wouldn't even cover his flight home from Sweden.

    How about <doh>

I wouldn't sell him for any price this late in the window. It would have to be something huge in the summer, over £30m.

Selling Carroll for as much as £40m would surely bring a bigger financial implication for Ashley, I honestly think this would be one move to far for Ashley and he would start to see crowds and shirt sales drop. In the long run, factoring in the drop in crowds and shirts etc, he'd have to pay more wages for a striker the same quality and if he didn't get a quality striker surely this could be risking relegation in the future. Also he's hardly likely to make any type of money out of selling Newcastle if there's no Carroll because there's no many other assests!

An astute muliti-millionnaire businessman like Mike Ashley surely should be able to see this, surely ... ???

No price. Doesn't matter what amount we got. Once other clubs knew we had the money (even if Cashley did spend it) they would just hike up the asking price for his replacement and we'd end up with no better

Someone mentioned on the old 606 about how, if Carroll was sold for 30m then it really wouldn't be worthwhile - we'd end uip spending around 15/20m on an older forward with much higher wages than AC, so we would have lost a great deal of the money in just getting a replacement! AC is an immense player and really has so much potential and is still so young, which is very hard to find in todays game. To answer the question, it would honestly have to be around 60/65m, and even then I'd be so gutted.
I know he's not actually worth 60m, but as I said above he has the potential to be

If someone had of said to me in the last January transfer window people would be bidding 20+ million for him in this one I have to be honest and say they need to lock themselves in a padded cell. However I have to give credit where credit is due. He has supprised me no end as to how he has taken to the premier and added another dimention to his game in the summer where he seemed to add his ability to control the ball a lot better and his first touch also improved. The lad has a great future if he keeps a level head. Whats he worth?? difficult to say I have seen players come and go in the premier good one season ****e the next we shall see no doubt soon as bids will be flying in for him if he continues to improve. He offers something different a bit like Gyan for us not the same kind of player but gives you a bit of an edge over the opposition as you can never tell what they are going to do next.

Andy Carroll is the future of Newcastle United and England in the goal-scoring department.

Spurs or anyone else for that matter can shove their money right up their fat arseholes.

No amount of money. Who replaces him? The sort of quality required will be older, foreign, on higher wages and wont care about the club. If Carroll is sold that will be it for me, would not go to another game until Ashley is gone.

To us, he's priceless im my opinion.

We wouldn't be able to get a replacement as good or better and we can build a team around him that in a few years could be challenging for UEFA cup spots again.
