It makes you wonder just how stupid the people in charge are sometimes when these incredible one in a lifetime offers are staring them in the face and they can't seem to grasp it. At least the players we've got are starting to perform well. We are lacking quality in the middle but they're doing alright now.
It was his general attitude. He never gave the impression that we were really chasing M'Vila, or that he was desperate to sign him. That poor ****er even jumped on a plane in the hope that we would sign him.
Not in agreement, mate. After the way we treated him, I wouldn't have blamed him if he had turned around and told us to **** off! I love him for his performances at our club, and the way he endeared himself to the supporters. He wanted to sign, we ****ed about.
Not all that fussed by this to be honest. It's been reported they wanted 8.5m which would have made absolute mugs of us. 8.5m for four months when he'd made it apparent he wanted to come here. If he was that desperate to come back he'd have waited. Him changing his mind shows he wasn't that fussed about coming to us in the first place and would have likely left as soon as more money was mentioned elsewhere. Good luck to the lad. He's just another ex player I'm don't really give a **** about. His social media bullshit is an absolute con.
Very disappointing if he doesn't come back, as our midfield would be fantastic with him in it. but I question his intentions if he stays there for the money. Reminds me of Gyan. Makes me wonder if he was one of the many transfer hopefulls who were demanding silly money in wages back in August (according to Gabbiadini). On top of RubyTuesday wanting a daft transfer fee.
I know what you mean but I don't agree with you. The way I see it is that if he signs for free in January then it would be a big stroke of good fortune that nobody else better came in for him and not very likely. Could still happen in which case we'd have been right not to pay. Whereas if we'd just signed him in January we could have had an absolutely class player who loves the club for a bargain basement price. God knows he would have been useful this season. Yes it would superficially seem like we're being made mugs of but if signing a player of his quality for 8.5 mil makes us mugs then I'll welcome that title all day. If we could spend 8.5 mil on every position for happy, high quality players of his calibre we'd be in the top six. Hardly mugs.
If the kid told us he'd come on a free in January... Why pay that amount for four months? Just seems like bad business to me. Thought I'd be more gutted by this but if he wants to play in that tinpot league for a bit more cash I just don't think we need him. 3 wins in 4 without him. Hopefully money's invested in other talent in January and we keep playing well.
We'll have to wait and see what happens eh, if we do get him for free or Rubin were asking for silly money then you'd be dead right.
To find better value, he will have to do better than N'Dong, on what I have seen so far. It suggests to me he never watched us much before taking over the club, hence his poor perfomance in the transfer market after a good pre season. Big VIc has saved his skin imo.
M'vila is a £15m + player IMO. We could have had him for 5/6m. Granted it was a rip off but we should have just ****ing paid it. We spend £14m on N'Dong, who in all fairness is not as good as Yann. Another **** up.
Can you imagine if he was part of our midfield? The way we played yesterday with him in centre mid. The options we'd have with him, Kirchhoff, Denayer, N'Dong etc. (Haven't mentioned my favourite either) but it doesn't look too bad as it is, icing on the cake. I'll be gutted if he does go somewhere like Everton. I'm still holding out hope as everything n that article is pure speculation. Ha'way Yann the man. You know you're a mackem
So when things are going badly, it's the manager. When things start looking better, that same manager is still rubbish but it's the players? Absolutely Hate this attitude. I agree manager has responsibilities when things are going badly but he also must take some plaudits when fortunes change
I'm not sure I see the point of this self-flagellation on losing M'Vila. He's gone. **** happens. But I bet there aren't any tears in the changing room at the minute. We've just won 3 from 4.
It's pretty obvious why some of us are disappointed. He would have been the best centre midfielder we've had at the club for a long time. We're on a good run but the midfield is really lacking in quality. We're still in the relegation zone.
