    Gylfi Sigurdsson

(I've never been one to care much for using the past to influence current or future decisions. For me, he's a quality player, end of)

I don't understand anyone that says they wouldn't want Morgan back. We are a business these days. If he is the right player for us then whats the problem? HE didn;t leave us on bad terms. We got more than he is being quoted at and we surely match WBA wages.

He is also a DM that looks forward. A bit different to Romeu who carries the ball forward a lot, Morgan plays passes straight into the forwards and "wide" players. Would take the pressure off our non DMs as well. I daresay he could play as a CM rather than only be able to play as a DM.

I once read on a site that we were signing Freddy Adu.

He would of been worth £25m before his new deal... I'm hopeful there's no release clause.

I hope for his and ours sake he stays for a least 2 seasons to further improve as a player and his price tag.

2 extra seasons after this one?

I can't see that mate. 1 more at most I imagine.

There's absolutely no way that release clause is true though.

That may also be another reason for the new deal. Removal of the release clause

Yep makes no sense, Beefy said a while back he had heard we were looking for offers of £40+m.

Claude Puel said himself Van Dijk is going no where in January. If this release clause was correct, I doubt he would say that with any confidence at all, as he would certainly be off.
Putting a £25m release clause in his contract would be utterly horrendous from the board - I think they are too smart to make such a mistake and don't buy it for a second.

Yeah of course they are too smart, I mean its not like they allowed Clyne or Wanyama to enter the final year of their contracts and go for pittance.

I appreciate not everything works out how we would like, re the above, but that could also be the same with Virgil, perhaps he does have a fee we would be unhappy with, and that is why he agreed to stay another season.

Now, I'm not saying it will happen, as I think we will get one more season after this one from him, and I think we will get over £40m, but for all we know it could be possible...

Billy, he had a long deal before we gave him the six year contract, we didn't do that just to stick a stupid clause in. The mirror are ****-stirring like they've been doing for seven years. Relax, he'll go, but it will be on our terms.

    Bring. Morgan. Home.

If they are selling him, we have to go in for him. Absolutely have to.

Happy to see Morgan back....but doubt it will happen

    a) because he probably won't want to
    b) he will be expensive
    c) we need a striker more

I'd be happy for us to do that even at the expense of signing a striker in January. Yes improving our attack is the more pressing issue, but if the opportunity arises to improve another area of our team, we shouldn't just ignore it. He might not still be available come the summer.

Well the board made the right decision to allow Clyne and Wanyama to leave in their last year's for a bit less. We were going through a period of change and if those two both left aswell then it would have been to much for us to adapt. Only lost about £10m on each which is fine considering they provided us with stability during the "exodus"

He might help with the goals as well. By the time he left Schneiderlin was capable of chipping in maybe 5 goals a season. Not loads but it's more than anyone else we have in midfield right now and he'd possibly have a bit more licence to get forward if he was playing with, say, Romeu and Hojbjerg.
