There's your error. Football didn't start until Euro 96, and City came some time after that. :emoticon-0105-wink:

He made the same mistakes as Peter 'Mr Negative' Taylor, another one who got us promoted twice.

No. But I can think of a lot of armchair managers who post on internet forums who think they would have been.

I do love it when you sneer at people with a different opinion to you, it's very endearing.

    He's an absolute bellend.

Always wanted to manage Aston Villa, waited 20 years.

    Little old Villa.

    ****ing fat ****.

He was ridiculed because I always thought he was a monumental prick and that never changed just because he became our manager.

I'm glad he's ****ed off and taken his bullshit with him.

All the 'wumming' aside, I can't believe SB's tenure will be remembered with anything else other then success and great memories.

We was always just a stepping stone for his ambition to manage a team 11th in the Championship

Lets not kid anyone, Villa are a massive club steeped in history and will get back to the prem this season or next.

That'll be the same Leeds who've constantly been owned by egomaniacs, the same Leeds who have failed to employ a decent manager since **** knows when, the same Leeds who seem to go through a manager twice every season? I love Leeds being in our shadow but, a decent owner emplying a sound manager and given time .... the ****s would soon be on the up and those dirty, stinking, obscene Hull Whites would be crawling out from under which ever rock they've slithered under.

There's loads of examples to prove that what most people call a 'big' club means nothing nowadays. Forest, Leeds, Wednesday are all insignificant now, while Leicester and Bournemouth have had success almost overnight. I think this can only be a good thing for football.

    He made mistakes.

He made less mistakes than any of our previous managers.

He made many mistakes than many of us will never know about.
Has he been sucking her toes?

The reason for the ''insignificance'' of the clubs you mention is ALL down to **** ownership - Forest, Leeds, SW, Villa, Wolves etc etc are still big clubs - big clubs struggling, no doubt about that, but they're still big clubs.

Leicester haven't had overnight success, they've spent most of their history in the top flight.

They are all clubs who would get larger crowds than us in the PL, whether their sobers were good, bad or indifferent. As would a number of other clubs in the Championship and even lower. I think tradition and playing at the top level also comes into it. Also, some places are football cities, others aren't.
Don't know why, as crowds would have flocked to a top flight club in Hull years ago, but the large fan base a lot of other clubs have doesn't seem to exist in Hull nowadays. If it wasn't people from outside Hull boosting the figures it would look even worse.

And what does that tell us? Any club can rise or fall quickly at the moment. No clubs are entitled to anything or have a 'rightful place'. History means nothing because if you're not well run now, you can bet another will be and they'll be the ones enjoying success.
