Still a neat trick, though. In fairness i think its been done before.
ahem.
winning the title from that far back I mean not the water to wine. both have happened.
It'd save me a packet this month if I could do it.

United 14 points behind Newcastle in March and won the league, then, it was two horse race.In fairness i think its been done before.

Have they?yeah but they've two extra months to account for there being chelsea and city to over come.
you know sky have said we finish 5th already so there's no point thinking we will be in there.
Could do 'The Martian' and grow a grape vine in your own faeces and water it with filtered Urine. Then you'd be turning your **** and water into wine.Still a neat trick, though.

There's a thread for this ****Could do 'The Martian' and grow a grape vine in your own faeces and water it with filtered Urine. Then you'd be turning your **** and water into wine.![]()
Think the thread died with Greez. RIPThere's a thread for this ****![]()

plus if anyhting having only one side to over haul is harder than having competitive teams taking points off each other. If 4 clubs are at the top playing each other and you win all your games its inevitable you will close in on them
however we all know utd have more bumps in the road coming.
I don't think any manager could turn them into the winning machine that they were in Ferguson's time. All their previous managers were very decent managers until they turn up at their place and suddenly they had the Midas touch in reverse.
If Mourinho could turn them into his Chelsea Mk 1 they will be formidable and could turn things round but I think they will have this malaise lasting for a few years yet.
Like I said in an earlier thread, they are more of a Cup team now.

You cannot deny utd have some absolutely fabulous players. just that they don't all fit.
I'd argue that absolutely fabulous players wouldn't be sat in 6th place in the table.
I do hope that the majority of you are wumming.
The squad that Utd have is more than capable of getting top four, i would still be insisting they could win the title, which although unlikely is still possible if i thought that City, Chelsea and Arsenal would ALL mess up.
They have started to show the promise and performance that their side is capable of. Mourihnio will sort Utd out, playing Mickey is a good start. It is also entirely possible that we could mess up in December.
The games we have coming up are the types of games we tend to struggle with, there would we be no surprise if we go on spurs (this season) like run in december where we dont lose but we dont win, we have the derby and city in this month. This is why we get called deluded. We go into one of the two busiest months for league points (6 games same as April) basically goading the other teams discussing how many we are going to smash a team by. We have quite an injury list at the minute and our balance has been disrupted. It is great the amount of points we currently have but we are in no way nailed on for top four, equally writing Utd/South/Everton off is just plain stupid.
I am not saying it will happen but i would not be surprised if Couts has played his last game for us. Basically so much can change - particularly in December and Jan. Every time we write something we are virtually jinxing ourselves. Only two years ago we were like this and then karma gave us the slip. Just keep realistic otherwise this will all come back and bite us in the arse.
Not going to go over old ground then.
On your second point - it doesn't matter who has played up to that point, who is going to pick a team on sentimentality?
What matters is how much he wants the trophy. If he wants to win it he'll field a team to win it, regardless of who played in earlier rounds. If he doesn't think it a priority then he'll stick with the second string.
In the latter stages against say, a Utd team who really want to win, I'd say that's exactly what it is.By picking first team players, he'd be ****ting all over the second string players confidence. Hardly good for development.
Wanting to win it and picking a second string aren't necessarily a either or situation either.
Nice WUM attempt but I don't think any Mancs are going to bite the hope bait you're dangling
The [HASHTAG]#reality[/HASHTAG] is top four is effectively out of Man Utd's hands and hoping teams mess up is their only chance
Even if one of the top four does crumble they still have to outperform Spurs, Everton, and Watford to take advantage
