leave his eyes alone!! Bergkamp was my favourite player growing up. What a player. Truly amazing on the field and a model professional off it.
That means the most 'creative' player. A player with superb vision. He rarely needs to look at the ball at his feet. That's what 'head-up' means. I think you may be thinking of 'heads-up' I don't use Americanisms.
Southampton vs Arsenal has produced some brilliant games and top displays from both teams since you returned to the premiership. I'm confident against most teams but Southampton is always a game I think could be a potential banana skin and never expect an easy 3 points.
And incidentally, we happy few: http://www.footballorgin.net/efl-cup-arsenal-vs-southampton-full-match-replay/
Oh boy that was a lovely evening in North London! I get there at 5:30 but gooner brother in law and gooner cutomer turn up with their boys at 6:20. Italian jammed full so had to have a dodgy Chinese on the Holloway Road. Home for 11:30 isn't bad though. Freezing bloody cold, but then all of a sudden my cockles felt glowing and warm. Well done boys, excellent performance. Could have been five easily. They had a bit of pressure in the last ten minutes and that was about it. The midfield midgets were excellent tonight. Congrats to Clasie on his goal too. Bring on the scallies!! I ****ing love football....
In a saints shirt you have a fair point. Many would argue Lallana and it would be a tough call. But all round Tadic is far from it. I couldn't tell from your initial message whether you meant for saints or just in general, apologies if i've got the wrong end of the stick!
Yes, we've spoken before on here of Tadic's ability to play the ball without even looking at it. It means he has a massive advantage over other players who don't have his level of technical ability. MLT used to make my jaw drop on a regular basis. Tadic is the first player since to do anywhere near the same. And yes, I do think he's superior to the Lallana we sold.
Oh boy does that Sophie Ann lass have some quick feet. Couple of breath taking bits of skill. Can't wait for him to get up to the speed of the game here...
Yeah you can tell he's not upto speed yet but shows glimpses of pure magic... brilliant stuff. Gonna be a hell of a player.
From the players we've had from Southampton I love Walcott. I know he gets a lot of stick and he obviously isn't the kind of player who can do it all but he gives us something that no-one else does or has since he broke through into the first team squad. His pace, eye for a run in behind and ability to finish more often than not make him a really useful player. It's really unfortunate he has struggled so much with injuries so much throughout his time with us as otherwise I think he would be seen as one of the best wing forwards in the league. Whenever he is fit and gets a proper run in the team he is quality but takes a long time to return to form after injury. This season he has really added some aggression to his game as well which is making him one of our most productive players. He had that season where he got 23 goals in all competitions (if I remember rightly) and was forming a great parter ship with RVP but injuries have got in the way of him really pushing on. I remember a handful of years ago now how he played against Barca and completely turned the game for us getting us back from 2-0 down to a 2-2 draw and the following comments before the return leg from Messi, guardiola etc about how Walcott was the player they feared most. He forces defences to sit deeper when he starts and as a sub against tired legs he is lethal. He is capable of the odd world class goal as well. The one against City from the edge of the box the season before last stands out for me. He has started this season brilliantly and if he can avoid injuries this could be the season he really shows what he is capable of. I've felt really sorry for him with the ups and downs he has had in his career. Too much hype when he was young and the pressure got to him for a long time until he matured and got his head down and started to work hard. Oxocube the jury is still out. He has so much potential and talent but seems to be finding it hard to take that next step to a consistent performer. His end product is the most infuriating thing for Arsenal fans as with the ball he is quick, good with his feet, strong and brave but is too wasteful in the moments that count. I think a lack of consistent first team football and confidence issues may have contributed. He's still young enough to reach his potential and he has had some important contributions already this season but most Arsenal fans find him frustrating and really want him to push on. (P.s. He can be rather suspect defensively and a bit to frequently gives the ball away when playing it out in our own half). Chambers had a very bright start and was thrown in at the deep end because of injuries. He showed he could have a future as a RB or as a CB with some good performances but wasn't ready to play constantly at the level required at Arsenal. He is comfortable on the ball, good in the air, decent going forward and works well alongside a more experienced partner but has a tendency to rush into a tackle and makes the odd individual error which is costly at this level. He is young and has plenty of time to develop into the player we have seen flashes off but has a lot of competition at RB and with Holding being added as a young English CB it's congested at CB too. Being English so helping the homegrown quota and his early performances will buy him time to see what he is capable of. Initially I thought we had got a hold of a future solid player but with how the squad is shaping up I think he will need to really get his head down and work hard if he is going to have a future playing regularly at Arsenal.
