    What's occurring Barney?
Are you miffed because the free case of wine wont be arriving at Chuckle Towers this Christmas?
I for one will be contributing to the Injured Jockeys Found out of the profit I have made from backing the information that Heisenburg has generously shared on this forum during the year.
I suggest you get your coat!

Firstly, that is how to respond to a post – a bit of humour mixed in with the message and no resort to foul language.

Look, people find some of the things I say inappropriate and even dappy and that is there prerogative and I certainly don’t mind, whatsoever, when they do. Similarly there are occasion when I feel the same about what others post. That’s life, I guess.

However, there is a fit and proper way to respond and recently 2 people have done this with foul language retorts or potty mouthed hissy fits if you prefer. One of these then seems to have had another similar response when I replied again!

Personally, I find it ridiculous, pompous and pretentious why someone should come on here and repeatedly tell us which charities to donate to! And the fact that they couldn’t seemingly handle that when I jokingly pointed this out (using far more polite language than I did earlier in this paragraph) makes them look even more self-important than they first had.

We all (I hope) contribute to a range of charities and I find it almost offensive being told, on here, who to donate too. The very act of charity is rather like fine art and beauty very much in the eye of the beholder. What one person deems appropriate and worthy another won’t. Again that’s life. We don’t live in a Communist state and can make our own minds up.

Calling a poster "precious" and refering to them as "dear" is far from humourous and in my opinion it is bordering on trolling.

I wouldn't condone anyone using foul language when referring to another poster but clearly you have provoked this reaction.

As for the charity he referred to, given this is a horse racing forum, he is within his rights to reference it on here.

He’s referred to other (non racing) charities in the past. And racing has a countless number of charities so why highlight just one?!? Again, we all have a mind (well I hope so) and are capable of deciding such things for ourselves.

I must admit I’m not a frequent internet or social media user and really ain’t ‘au fait’ with what ‘trolling’ actually means! Perhaps calling him ‘precious’ was a bit patronising on reflection though. But ‘calm down, dear’ is a phrase much used in the old Michael Winner ad whenever he was confounded by dappy, hysterical behaviour and it was meant as nothing more than that. And it was also used brilliant once by Mr Cameron, God bless him and save him, in the House.
