Got a phone call from the minibus driver who was taking my 16 year old son and his mates to the Liverpool game at half twelve yesterday afternoon to say that he has had to leave him at Birch Services on the M62 near Manchester because he was pissed out of his brains and had hoyed up all over the bus and was unfit to go any further. The staff there were going to look after him.. Me and our lass drove straight down there, but then found out that they had called an ambulance because he had told them that he thought he had been spiked.. So we then had to find Salford Hospital where he had been taken... It turns out that he hadn't been spiked at all but had downed a half bottle of vodka on top of about 8 bottles of Bud... Luckily they allowed him to come home with us straight away when we got there...Needless to say he is very much in the bad books today..

Poor bastard. I do not miss the idiocy that comes hand in hand with being that age.

I'm sire he's learned the lesson that we all learn at some point... When asked... What's the worst that can happen... The answer is worse than you'd imagine.

Our lass was in bits yesterday with the bugger..Especially when the staff at the service station told us he had been taken to hospital.. I have to say that the staff at Birch Services were brilliant the way they had looked after him and getting us a computer print out with the directions to the hospital..We will be writing a letter to the manager there tp say thanks..

It was a private minibus they booked from a taxi company. To be fair the driver did not leave him until the staff said they would look after him and he did contact us to explain the situation, so I don't hold him responsible...My lad has hopefully learned a big lesson over this..

Hopefully your lad won't forget that for quite a while mate. A lesson learned and no more away games until his mum says so!!

As Disco said, it could have been worse!

Hopefully it can be turned into a positive. Ya lad has hopefully learned a lesson very early on in his life.

Lets face facts we've all been there.

Pleased he's medically OK but bet your lass is giving him grief.

I've know for years that our club have been driving sane blokes to drink, I just didn't realise they were starting so young, never mind at least he's home safe RAW.
He'd have a sore head yesterday then.

I would not be surprised if he never touched vodka again. I got minging on dark rum about the same age and the smell of it today is enough to turn my stomach.

Aye I got pass out and wake up in the medical tent drunk on vodka at some festival in my early twenties and I can barely stand the stuff to this day. Not fond of cider for similar reasons.

Maybe the trick as a parent is to get your kid blackout drunk on every booze known to man then they'll be teetotal all their life.

Done to a schoolmate when he was caught smoking at fourteen, his Dad made him smoke three in a row and it cured him. I made sure my old Man did not find mine.
