So no depth then? I'm gald we cleared that up mate Let's see how he deals with your lack of depth in the 2nd half of the season in the league. I think you might be worried then Sky. Haven't we been there before as well?
Don't worry about that lack of depth Sky, maybe Stevie Me will come out of retirement and help you slip to 2nd again
Yep And the "clear out" was all their players that had come up through the youth system. But apparently he's "building something" laaaa! Dear oh dear, how many times have we heard this from 20 odd Livpl managers?
Did he not know about this before he took the job? I'm sure he'd like a couple of weeks off, but maybe he should've thought of that before joining Liverpool?
It sounds really poor though, especially with no European football. He's already been through it once and knew it was coming this season, so he should be prepared. Your squad depth really shouldn't be an issue and I'd expect it to be more taxing for your opponents. It sends out the wrong message, in my opinion.
I'm not sure Klopp's too bothered about it tbh. He wears his heart on his sleeve and says what he wants. He's sensible enough to realise it is what it is. No big deal.
Maybe you're right, but I don't get comments like this and his stuff about Sunderland being negative. It encourages your opponent and sounds a bit cheap, especially when you've won. Just brush this stuff off. It's not going to change, so why moan about it?
He says it how it is. I don't think he meant ANY disrespect to Sunderland - if you listen to the whole interview he praises them. The press will jump at any comment though. He's probably the most liked manager in the league, a couple of comments get people talking. Oh well!
He should be aware of how the press are going to run with whatever he says, though. You can spend ten minutes talking about how great your opponent is, but they'll push your one negative comment. That's what people will find interesting and provocative, unfortunately. I like aspects of Klopp and dislike others. He's a good manager, plays attractive football for the most part and interviews well, in that it's very watchable. His sideline antics and the odd moan let him down, but I can understand that people like that about him, too. It's better than having someone mope and look disinterested.
Klopp was very complimentary towards Sunderland in his pre match. He knew we would there to defend. Did it quite well to an extent. But couldnt hold the onslaught out long enough.
Exactly. Klopp respects what a team like Sunderland (no disrespect) had to do coming to Anfield to play us when in this type of form. Klopp respects tactics and understands what teams have to do. Any idiot could think he's being disrespectful for making a comment about being defensive. See what happened to Watford when they tried our game at Anfield. 3-0 down after 20 minutes. Klopp is excellent to watch (bias aside), he has everything imo. Fantastic for the PL. When the crowd went quiet yesterday he let rip on them, they then went wild, the team got better and we won. Most managers wouldn't even use tactics like that. Small details, but excellent to see.
Im a bit of a Moyes fan, so slightly biased. He seems to be getting things organised, with his limited squad. But sometimes his subs are mind boggling. Given a bit of money and time, im sure he will do ok. Nothing special but ok. We rely on Defoe to much. The bloke oozes class. If he gets crocked we are truely ****ed. Moyes as a manager is a good fit at a club like Sunderland. But he's no Klopp in the personality stakes. Another season where we just survive imo.
So then ideally we should all want (unless you support a **** team Sunderland, Leicester et al.) Bournemouth West Ham Southampton All to win today? Might have a little flutter.
