She blatantly needed the run LTO but she's also adapting to a new stable. She's a watching brief for me too Bob.
Having just about persuaded myself that no horse can win the Hennessy my pin has fallen on Charlie Longsdon's Coologue (33/1). Longsdon hasn't been in the best of form but had a first winner for a fortnight yesterday and his horses have been going close without actually winning (plenty of places). Coologue has been progressing well throughout 2016, starting with a fine 2nd giving 6lbs to Ziga Boy in The Great Yorkshire Chase, another 2nd at Doncaster trying to give Presenting Arms 6lbs, pulled up at Aintree when possibly over the top, and then a fine reappearance at the Showcase Meeting when he took a handicap chase off 140. I believe he had plenty in hand at Cheltenham and just got a little bit lonely up the hill, allowing Keltus to come back at him. But when he saw that rival, he went clear again and I think an 8lbs rise is fair. He is one of the least exposed horses in the race and could go very close here at a big price.
Apple's Jade and Defo Red double for me today and Born Suviour .... it on the list stay frosty kids xx
Triolo d'Alene ew and Vyta du Roc in the Hennessy. Gassin Golf and Generous Ransom elsewhere on the Newbury card. Gavin Sheehan gives up 2 very decent rides at Newbury (La Baque au Roi and Fou et Sage) to go to Bangor. Must be worth following. Good luck all.
looks like they did so there's the tip today kids.... who knows what they are and what's the tip ?????? as ever stay frosty
He had a breathing op prior to his winning return Oddy so if that has indeed done the trick, you may have a case here.
Applause ew 1st race at the Toon Frank the Slink better than the price but only 6 in race stay frosty
For new customers only, Corals go 33-1 against Thistlecrack or 50-1 Native River. Max bet £1 and winnings paid in free bets ...............
Hennessy betting - Paddy and Will Hill going 1/4 odds 5 places. All others are 4 places I think. Make sure you take the extra place chaps.
Morning, troops. The ‘county set’ are off to Newbury today and will, in fact, be parading in front of the grandstand before the big ‘un. Re my advice today though I’ll take the dear old regular readers ‘ooooooooooooooooooooop’ to Newcastle. ELGIN (12.05) was a useful bumper performer and is expected to develop into an above average hurdler whilst in the ‘lucky last’ (3.30) BRISTOL DE MAI looks set for a return to the winners enclosure on his first run in a handicap and his first over 3 miles. Can see him relishing this trip and a perch of 154 appears most attractive. Good luck all.
No mention of Cosmopolitan running in a decent handicap on the sand at Dunstall Park this evening. Surprising with a capital S.
It’s because it’s such a rich race (£19k) and if he goes over hurdles then he’s likely, on introduction, going to be going for a much, much, much less valuable prize. Not for me today though (at current odds) as there look a couple of either unexposed or difficult to get a handle on sorts in that race that could ultimately be very well handicapped. Cosmeapolitan has though apparently schooled very well over hurdles and will be out, in the NH sphere, before the end of the 2016.
There's your mares novice winner right there boys lovely jumping technique got hurdles and game. Superb
