Something that many a poster has asked and been turned down for in past including myself. I was clearly told I was not allowed as folk reserve the right to pass opinion on an opinion site and it's gives normal posters special privileges which wouldn't be fair on others. So why now? What's changed? There seems to a major breakdown in the handovers from previous mods to present mods. No consistency at all. This is not the same thing is having a thread closed from disruption. This thread clearly has read only privileges.
No idea why there would be a change in policy in 'read only' threads but as a genuine question why would you want to make a thread read only? I can understand if it was a site rules thread but don't really get it otherwise. Just noticed your Fabio thread and why wouldn't you want someone chipping in with comments? Not having a go here, it just feels like that's one of the points of the forum really. You're one of the main posters around here and lots of threads with no real responses would start to feel like ACS over on our board Unless read only in this context means something I'm missing entirely, which is possibly does.
I don't really want it closing to comments, just showing what starting that sort of crap easily leads to, just making a point. Tel has done the same to make the same point. There's no written rule about it. It's more of an etiquette 95% of the site adheres to. What makes Rakem so special?
Ah ok, that makes more sense. Feels like it's all going to kick off tonight based on the last 10 minutes or so. Take it easy mate.
I'm not sure what this is about Bri, but if you would allow me the privilege of sobering up and replying tomorrow, I'd appreciate it. I'm catching up and I have seen a thread from Rackem with a Facebook post which was then deleted. That may be what you and Tel were on about. I'm just guessing. I'll find out tomorrow when I have more time to look back on posts. With regard to policy on here, there was no handover. Can't even remember who the last mod's were. Me, Pops and Marcus talk about issues off-line, but there's no policy. There's NO favouritism at all. From me. I don't like any of you! Just had to edit my own post there. Hope no one noticed
Looks like the thread was locked by accident. No policy changes, nothing special, no privileges, no favourites, nothing like that at all. Purely accidental. edit: ignore. supposed to be replying to Bri
It's not that thread, not sure what that's about, it's Rackem's betting thread for this week. It was locked to replies with in minutes of being published. It's open now.
Currently reading this backwards then only every third word to find the hidden code. Something along the lines of "help Grandpops here. I am being held in an underground bunker by Blunham, Rackhem and Nomoregeordies whilst they plot forum domination. Please can you send some spare long johns to this address..."
Looks like the thread was locked by accident. No policy changes, nothing special, no privileges, no favourites, nothing like that at all. Purely accidental. Sorry mate, replied to haslam instead. Need to get a grip. Preferably on a bottle of vodka.
With in minutes of it being published? With a thread known to be disliked by many, who's OP took liberties with the sticky system. I don't buy that. If someone has committed a faux pas with the lack of hand over that's fair dos, no problem, but don't buy it was a click of a mouse mistake. I much more believe Rackem manipulated it into being closed for him. It has been done without the mod realising read only etiquette is for announcements only. For it's worth I think you lads were thrown to the dogs when you were handed this place. All mods changed over quickly and it's clear there was no kind of hand over. But I do smell foul play with that manipulator Rackem. He's a slime.
All fair and good everyone saying they have no idea about @Rackem' For Mackem and his 'locked' thread. I'm calling bullshit as it was 'locked' straight away and believe it was planned. Naturally IMOOC, as always.
Missed this one. Sure it was just an accident. Maybe ask rackem to post in the betting thread from now on. He doesn't contribute to the forum so probably shouldn't take up space with his long shots and retrospective winners.
It's been mentioned for donkeys - more people would see the stuff. He's never listened and believes his 'tips' warrant their own thread every single week.
Watch it fella. That sort of talk will get death wishes from Rackem. You should be safe on here though. He never steps outside of his own arsehole.
