As Obi suggests in the OP, I suspect this is far more to do with spray paint terrorists.

The new five foot electric gates on the corporate car park must cost a few bob, maybe they're expecting a Range Rover attack.

There should be no sitting on the fence with this issue

If we object to the gate, do you think he may take offence?

Will the real gate be much lower than the official gate?

I've no objection to them fencing and sealing off the Stadium for security reasons. What security risk does the walk way and footbridge present?. I my opinion none. you can't drive onto it as there are barriers at the Argyle Street end and the stairs at the Stadium end. So any risk would be from a cyclist or pedestrian either by planting a bomb such as a I.E.D which gating one end wouldn't prevent or a suicide bomber who would likely strike on match days when the gate are open anyway.
A counter argument would be the gates could prevent a quick evacuation of other events in West Park should terrorists strike. The Olympic torch festival had 15k+
in the park. There have been Concerts, Circuses, Summer Fairs in the park and during the school summer holidays i would think there could be several hundred people
in the park at any given time. Also i'm sure a lot of people use the walkway to get to Hull Fair. So to block off a well used thoroughfare I think is the Allams over reacting to the "Allam Out" graffiti.and nothing else. The best way to stop the graffiti would be for them to sell up and go.

It'd be interesting if this had happened a couple of years ago.

How many on here would have been defending this stupid idea? Leaping in front of the (terrorist) bullet for Allam?

I think it will be interesting to see how many disgruntled City supporters actually lodge an objection.

Perhaps pre-City of Culture It's an attempt to avoid any of the celebrations or acknowledgment of the 'City' of Culture-
The Allamhouse Empire is 'planning' to enclave (fence off) the KCCon as an independent state of 'Allamland' with Emperor Dɒktə* Assme Allme & Clown Price Ehaw as his concertina & have it's own alternative celebrations of - '1904 of Culture' ...

    *
    ˈdɒktə/

    1. 1.
change the content or appearance of (a document or picture) in order to deceive; falsify.

It's maybe being done as part of a scheme to keep all the bidders in an orderly queue.
