Southampton Football Club is pleased to confirm its new disabled changing facility at St Mary’s has been registered as an official Changing Places toilet. Changing Places toilets are different to standard accessible toilets, as they have extra features that allow for more space to meet the needs of those who use them. Saints have become only the fifth Premier League club to install a Changing Place toilet, which has space for wheelchair users and up to two carers, as well as a centrally placed toilet with space either side. The club has been working hard to install a Changing Places facility since the beginning of the year, when work began on the planning and implementation of the toilet at St Mary’s. The facility was completed in October 2016, with a few corrections needing to be made following an inspection. The Changing Places toilet will be open from Sunday’s home game against Everton. The facility is located on the first floor of the stadium, allowing access for all visitors who may need to use it. It has also been placed near to the raised desk for disabled seating, which is being reopened for matchdays. https://southamptonfc.com/news/2016-11-22/southampton-football-club-changing-places-facility About time, but at least we have one now.
