Murray would have been a good signing for us last summer, proven at this level and a good target man. Villa might be late runners for the play-offs if Bruce gets a signing or two in January...
Good chance now at 1-1. How much are we talking? A quid at 5/1 or something? lol. Good luck. Hope you take the bookies for fortunes.
How did that not go in for Villa! Just back from work watching the final 10 mins of this match - Villa seem to be a fighting force again. Good link here if any other overseas folks are interested:- http://www.vipbox.nu/football/433098/1/brighton-vs-aston-villa-live-stream-online
Unusual to see only 2 mins of added time at the end of match these days - seems 4 mins is the standard, so must have been a free flowing half with minimal stoppages.
Bon voyage to HQ tomorrow guys - sorry you missed out that wager HE, Finglas was hoping for some extra beer tomorrow, but it seemed Villa could have been the more likely, and deserved, 2-1 winners. I'm going to miss following our match as I'm off to Moncton tomorrow morning for my mother-in-laws 80th birthday family celebration. Last time I made a similar trip there was for my daughter's university graduation ceremony, on OBZ's magic Wembley day, I had been following the match on Bet365, watching the clock tick down, knowing that I had to leave her apartment and miss ET and possibly penalty kicks - so let's say I was bouncing en route to the graduation ceremony after OBZ's late winner. Here's hoping for a similar type of result against Norwich tomorrow.
Never mind, only a bit of fun it won't see me on the streets. Finglas is is off to see Ale Faurlin play for Getafe on Sunday. The rest of us are off to LR, please don't let us lose to the Budgies.
Mourinho will be pissed at that late Giroud equalizer - classic Oxlade-Chamberlain winger to a a CF (both subs) with a powerful header. First Wenger goal in 8 years against a Mourinho team apparently. Rooney booked for jawing off to the assistant ref. Rooney still carrying on in Fergie time. Cursory handshake at FT (1-1) - obligatory not heart-felt says the commentator. Giroud's last 9 shots on goal, he has scored 8 - now come on our lot. GOAL - Man Utd 1-1 Arsenal Olivier Giroud please log in to view this image 89 mins One effort, one goal! A goal totally out of character for Arsenal, but absolutely unstoppable. It's a beautiful sight, if you like this sort of thing. And I do. Sub Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain takes on his man - Marcus Rashford - and whips in a great cross but Olivier Giroud has so much to do. He climbs and jumps over three defenders to meet it on the full with a smashing header. Duncan Ferguson-esque. http://www.bbc.com/sport/live/football/37588829
Rochdale 4 Swindon Town 0 I wonder who was running the show today? Furlong & Doughty both playing 90 mins. Sounds like it could have been more too. Tim Sherwood tasted League One defeat for the first time since taking over as Swindon's director of football as Rochdale cruised to a 4-0 victory. Following their midweek exit from the FA Cup at the hands of non-league Eastleigh, Sherwood took a place in the directors box as the Robins slipped up at the Crown Oil Arena. John Goddard and Anton Rodgers both saw efforts kept out by Dale goalkeeper Conrad Logan before the visitors fell behind in the 29th minute to Joe Bunney's precise header. And the contest was effectively decided during an eleven-minute spell after the break during which Swindon shipped three goals. Matt Lund doubled Dale's lead in the 55th minute when he fired into the roof of the net from close range and then substitute Steve Davies slotted home the third two minutes later. Davies was brought down by Lloyd Jones to earn a penalty in the 66th minute and the former Blackpool frontman slotted home his second from the spot. Robins goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux averted further embarrassment when he saved twice from Ian Henderson in the closing stages. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37958932
Classic stuff - unfortunate for Greeno if that mistake turns out to be the deciding factor in the match. Anyway, Leeds are doing far better against the opposition than our 0-6 capitulation. 2-0 now I see 54' Goal! Leeds United 0, Newcastle United 2. Dwight Gayle (Newcastle United) left footed shot from very close range to the bottom left corner. Assisted by Vurnon Anita. Remember Getafe is on in 15 mins. GOAL (Gayle) Leeds 0-1 Newcastle Newcastle lead courtesy of an absolute howler from Leeds goalkeeper Rob Green. Jack Colback lofts a ball forward from just inside the Leeds half, which Green catches on his line, but then inexplicably drops into the path of Dwight Gayle. The Championship's top scorer taps in his 12th league goal of the season from all of one yard out. It might have come in strange fashion, but the goal is no more than Newcastle have deserved. Leeds manufacture their best opportunity of the first half, but Chris Wood can't keep his header down from Souleymane Doukara's cross. The Magpies are stung back into action, and Yoan Goffran slices a shot wide of Rob Green's far post. Newcastle are threatening every time they get the ball. Nico Lennon: Obviously delighted to be 0-1 up against Leeds but do feel for Rob Green. Shades of my GK howler in year 6 @ Beckford Primary in '97 http://www.bbc.com/sport/live/football/37763518
