That doesn't mean that it isn't true, though.
It could just be unconfirmed at the moment.

Until it is confirmed I'll stick to my theory that the police shot and killed a gangster armed with a gun who fired at them.

Yeah, I'd be inclined to believe that too and I think that it's pretty irresponsible of the Guardian to report this with the current climate.

Assuming it has been reported correctly , I`d have to say that carrying a gun is tempting fate somewhat.

Yes, so they have neither confirmed nor denied it.

7.35pm: Initial ballistics tests on the bullet that lodged in a police officer's radio when Mark Duggan died on Thursday night show it was a police issue bullet, the Guardian understands.

That is some heavyweight reporting right there.

The only reason that I'm inclined to believe the Guardian report, is that they'll get into so much **** if they're wrong.

If you go out on the streets with an unlicenced firearm and end up getting whacked out by the police then tough ****.

My heart bleeds purple piss for him <ok>

It is and if it's off the back of a rumour then it's ****ing stupid to print it.

If it is true, it doesn't prove that he didn't fire at the police. The bullet might have come from a dodgy copper or a dodgy employee at the company that makes the bullets or a dodgy courier. I gather that it's easier to get a gun than to get bullets in Great Britain so they must be worth a few bob.

Why was he carrying a weapon in the first place, that's the question.

Was he carrying it because the gun metal felt nice rubbing against his baws?

No, he was carrying it because he obviously had the intention of using it. Now, if the police have prevented some bank workers getting terrorised or some innocent person / people getting shot dead, then surely that's a good thing.

You don't illegally carry a gun on the streets of Britain unless it's for illegal activities so **** him <ok>

Is it? We don't have much gun ownership in this country, most bullets would be in the hands of the forces and the police and some will go walkabout.
