Chery is our most talented player. Holloway's first task ought to be to find a way of maximising his impact. I'm not sure why some are assuming that Sandro might be re-introduced. I don't imagine it was JFH's choice not to use him.
Play two quick blokes out wide and get the bastard football in the bastard box. Don't defend like ****s. Chery has been ineffective overall IMO and Hasselbaink seemed determined to play him at all costs.
For what its worth I'd go with (if fit): Smithies Onuoha Hall Lynch Robinson Cousins Luongo Borysiuk Chery Washington Sylla A bit old school with the 4-4-2 - 16375 attendance - 2-1 Rangers
Reckon if we're going to play 2 up we need Shodipo and Wszolek to feed 'Surprise, Surprise' Then it's either Cousins or Borysiuk (as holding) plus Luongo (more attacking) Chery as impact sub, probably for Luongo My gut feeling is he will more likely go with a 433, again using the wide men, but giving an extra man in midfield so either Cousins, Borysiuk and Luongo or Cousins, Borysiuk and Chery - Washington on for one of them as we go 442 if we need to chase the game Of course according to all the pundits, Ollie apparently prefers 4231 which might give us Borysiuk and Cousins as the 2, Shodipo, Luongo and Wszolek as the 3 and Sylla would get the nod for the 1. Whatever formation we play, I think we have good wide men and an in-form target man... I just hope we use them... Think attendance will be north of 17k if the Budgies bring a decent following, I just hope we outscore them...
To be really honest (and I have absolutely no evidence to support this) I have not been worried about our attacking ability at all (if only JFH would have let them have a go, and not shackled them with safety first). However I am desperately worried about our defence which feels fragile all the time and needs 4 or 5 midfielders and Karl Henry and BFG defending in front of them. I have never been vocal about Henry because I thought he was doing a dirty job that our team needed. If Ollie can get the team attacking sensibly, and so taking the unmittigating pressure off of the defence. I will be the happiest person at HQ tomorrow. I would love to win 4-3 (to be honest tomorrow, I just would love to win)
Norwich have shipped 8 goals in their last 2 games and only 2 points from last 6 games.......they're not high on confidence and the fans are questioning the manager........sound familiar? We've not beaten them at HQ since 2007 so now's as good a chance as any......
Beth, almost everyone has new hopes and expectations, and you have gone into "worry mode"! However, I admit that you are voicing my personal fears. However, I also am really looking forward to the match and have even subscribed to QPR Player to be closer to the match (commentary). I really hope that you will be a "happy Beth" and not a "sad Beth" come 17:00 Saturday afternoon.
Totally this - if we're camped up their end with the ball it doesn't matter if Hall, Lynch etc. are sitting in the C&S with a pint and a bag of Salt 'n' Vinegar crisps for the afternoon
I don't know why but I also think Sandro is going to come back into it. When Holloway arrived and looked at what he has at his disposal he probably questioned why he wasn't involved. Holloway is very much the type of manager who will put his arm round a player and give him some warm, cider-breath love.
Commentators mockers......works all the time in the cricket!!!!! Still it's a year to break records......
NEWS GETS BETTER I think Steven Cauker has a hip problem ruling him out of the manager's second debut in the Loftus Road dugout - although it appears he's the only one apart from suspended Karl Henry and long-term absentees Jamie Mackie and Jake Bidwell to miss out. Chances are James Perch will play on the right side of defence with Nedum Onuoha moving to the centre alongside Grant Hall, and Jack Robinson on the left. Striker Conor Washington has recovered from a slight groin injury picked up playing for Northern Ireland. Midfielder Ariel Borysiuk is available again after missing the Nottingham Forest 1-1 draw that was Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's last game in charge. Massimo Luongo is back after a thigh injury. And Yeni Ngbakato could make his first start in over a month after recovering from a thigh injury and a family bereavement. No Caulker no Henry and for Stan no Mackie og Come on you RRRS
I hope that Ollie and Birch understand that playing Ned, Cousins and Chery out of position is what got JFH the tin! I also hope that Washington gets to play alongside Cilla or BFG upfront in a 442 and starts scoring. Otherwise, I quite like your team!
