Actually I feel sorry for Rooney over having a drink. He should be allowed to relax over a few beers and if he was doing nothing wrong then thats ok. If he was fighting or trying to shag the brides granny then thats a different matter but he wasn't. Jagjelka was there too but nothing said and apparently some of the lads were at a nightclub and again nothing said. Double standards by our **** press once again. Bullshit non story.

No idea why Klopp was asked about this [unless some of ours were 'guilty' as well] here's what he said [BBC] -

''Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said he did not see a problem.
"I feel sorry for the players," he said. "We live on the sunny side of life, but in the end maybe it is a surprise there is a human being behind the kid.
"This generation is the most professional generation of footballers we have ever had - not only in England. All the legends you admire, they drank like devils and smoked like crazy and were still good players. Nobody does that any more.
"I've no idea where Wayne was but I'm pretty sure it was not that serious."

I'm just amused that Monghino saw fit to pull up the FA for 'lettin'; Rooney, a £300k a week professional footballer, go out and get pissed. It's as if they were dogsitting and let the prize poodle of the leash to go and swim in a mucky canal or something. If our players have transgressed in any way (have they?) I'd hope that Jurgen took it up with them.

Agreed. If Rooney has been told by his manager not to drink, then it's an issue between him/manager/Uniturd. Just can't get this loco-parent is nonsense straight in my head though. How does Monghino make it England's fault? Fair enough if England had aggravated an injury after the player had said they had a tender hamstring or suchlike, but he's thirty year old and went and got pissed. And what's this crap about an England captain should be setting a better example? Why? He's not kiddy-fiddling or drink-driving, is he? Total bollocks.

Both were warned about wearing poppies before the games so it's inevitable.

I wear and respect the poppy but I don't think it was necessary to bring it into football. The reason being is because whilst the poppy is a symbol of respect for us, it could offend others in the world.

We wouldn't appreciate if another nation decided to wear a symbol that we found offensive.

If people are offended of others paying their respect to the millions that died then they need to sort themselves out.

depends what the symbol was. If it was to show respect I don't see how we would find that offensive?

People are bound to be offended whatever you do, but cannot see reasons all the heroes are going to be forgotten because of "politically correct"

They're also moaning about the minute's silence the ****ers.

The most corrupt organisation on the planet can get to **** as far as I'm concerned.

The game was between 2 UK sides and was played on the 11th, it'd have been an insult if there'd have not been either the poppy worn or the minute's silence
