Sky Khan 13/2 2.05 Market Rasen Won this last year off five pounds lower. He came third in the Martin Pipe and has gone close at Aintree and Punchestown since.Should be alot fitter for his first run this season
This was my post from 6th Nov "I was expecting Lettheriverrundry to appear in a novice handicap chase off a lowly mark of 122 but they have gone straight into a novice chase. He looked a chaser in the making and given he won first time out and then should won bar a blunder last season first out i think today is the day to be on. 8/1 in a 4 runner field." He was a non runner that day in a hot event and now they have found a novice handicap to exploit his mark. He would have been up against 145+ rated hurdlers that day and i think that shows just how much they think of this lad. I am very keen tomorrow and he has opened up at 11/2. 2.50 Wincanton 1 more tracker horse aswell - Western Ryder in the Market Rasen bumper. Double with him for me.
I can't help but think Monksland getting 7lbs from Outlander is the 1 to be on, as long as he gets a clean round which may be the issue.
I'd be leaning that way as well tward. Noel is flying it recently too and Sean Flanagan is riding with an air of confidence right now. 7/2 is perfectly fair imo. Trip is my main concern to be fair. That's the possible fly in the ointment.
A nice card all around at Clonmel in fact. A few I have backed this evening for the meeting; 12.35 - Rathnure Rebel 8/1 2.10 - Monksland 7/2 2.40 - Thanks for Tea 8/1
1.05 horse called Jim Will Fix It... surely BHA should insist that horse is renamed? Embarrassing for the game
One that catches my eye today is ON DEMAND, 1.45 Wincanton. Backed this fella two runs ago and in typical fashion, Johnson got beat at short odds. Last time out I left it alone because of the 10lb claimed on board and low and behold it won and won fairly well. Same lad on again today, so is receiving plenty of weight and hopefully if given an enterprising run like the last time can see this going in again. Currently 6/1.
On official ratings they will all have to go a bit to beat Alelchi Inois in the Clonmel Oil Chase - on 161 he is well clear of the rest and even gets weight from the 2 closest to him in the ratings. Money for Monksland this morning but a fall at Down Royal is hardly the ideal prep and I suspect the drop back to 20 furlongs might not be ideal. 2/1 freely available for the Mullins/Walsh combo and I'm going to have me a slice of that.
He was the subject of a massive gamble that day! Up in class and up a whopping 13lbs for that victory so certainly has it all to do.
Rathnure Rebel is back...Yes! Lovely 8/1 winner I just saw the result and he was smashed up by the lads too
Very dissappointed with my selections run. Right out the back, didnt jump too well and gave the winner about 20-30lengths. Made progress near the end but just a watching brief for now.
