Geez, the kid is just fearless. Don't get me wrong, that car helps, but even I have to applaud him today.
Credit to Hamilton, he had a mission these last four races and he couldn't be doing it any more emphatically. The time is running out for that bit of luck he needs, or rather that bit of bad luck for Nico.
That was worth waiting for... well from one driver. Red bull were awful today. verstappen turned in genius driving in the end. Hamilton cruised it. Rosberg bottling it for me. Ricciardo in same place gets shown by max. pretty cool. Massa the first ever lap of honour while a race is still going on. Mad stuff. once they all stopped whinging and actually raced it worked out.
Barring reliability issues, WDC has to be Rosberg's now. Can't see anyone getting close to the Mercs at Abu Dhabi.
He did his best to back Rosberg up twice on restarts. he could do no more today. Rosberg now only needs a 3rd. hes been very much tooling about and that annoys me.
It's a shame he didn't have more of a go at Hamilton today to seal the WDC today. Anything can happen in racing. He really is relying on his Merc not breaking down, some random puncture etc or not getting wiped out on lap 1. Sometimes you can be too cautious.
Some of you guys always criticise Rosberg no matter what. He only needed 2nd, it was very difficult conditions, drivers were falling off left, right and centre, and he drove within himself. If that had been Lewis you would all be calling it a champions drive.
Hmmmm..... overtaken by Verstappen and only got the place back because of bad strategy at Red Bull. Lucky to get away with a spin. Errors by Hamilton zero, and he was pulling away from Rosberg at times by a second a lap.
He hasn't been rewarded yet. May yet end up kicking himself for not trying to get the win today if Abu Dhabi goes pear shaped for him. The greatest drivers ensure the keep their destiny in their own hands.
He had a bit of fortune today that keeps the pressure off in the final race. But you need a bit of fortune to win a title.
