been the Cenataph (local) good but sad day couple of ports to salute the fallen thought I'll go home watch racing in peace
Really enjoyed the Spinter not on C4
was tempted to back Simonsig as it looked to be a fated day but had already backed Fox Norton.

can't believe what happened Fate indeed. very sad ....

Round about as sad as it gets that turn of events. Awful, truly awful.

A sport with almost constant lows and not enough highs.

R.I.P the beautiful Simonsig, visually the best Neptune winner I have ever seen.

Can we forget the stupidity on the forum please on a day like today.

    Horrible.

I know its easy to say after, but should Simonsig not have been retired? 3 runs in 3 years before today, the last of them beaten 40L in a Grade 2, going on 11yo. A Class novice, did anyone really expect him to come back to his best now at this age after years of problems, surely a horse like that earned retirement.

I'm pleased that Sprinters has retired - he had nothing left to prove and at least he will enjoy a happy future relatively risk free hopefully.

In contrast, what a sickener that Simonsig has lost his life. Always sad to lose a horse, and even more so when it is a popular animal. RIP Simonsig

At the risk of hearing a Cindi Lauper song, I'm doing quite well today! Aerial, Le Prezien and Fox Norton so far (singles and doubles) Leoncarvallo to go, plus my wild card in the comp :)

It's my thoughts too Boris, but you have to assume that those close to the horse know best
