It brings tears to the eyes re-living those happy days with all the smiling faces, not so long ago really. What untold damage the cretinous current owners have inflicted on us all. It will take much work and effort to restore the clubs heart to days of yore.

First time I have seen that. Oh how positive things where then. The Allams should be held by the balls and made to watch this. Shows that football IS about fans. Atmosphere, Banter, club to club relations. Brilliant. Puts a skip in your step watching that.

    Great. But also profoundly depressing.

19, 076 against Scunthorpe in the 4th tier.......

Who would have guessed what was to follow, two promotions, and then 3 promotions to the PL, the Cup final, the Europa League, beating Liverpool three times in a row, transfers in the double digit milions.....
..... and then smaller crowds in the Premiership than in the old 4th division?
It takes a special kind of **** to **** things up so spectacularly badly and still refuse to admit it.

Though they weren't streams in the lower divisions. Another thing preferable to the PL, If people want to see the team live they have to go.

So was I. The point is if someone in charge had pissed you off then you didn't have the option of seeing them whilst not handing over any of your money like you do now.

First time I have seen that, really brings back great memories. Only complaint Tom Courtenay's voice grates on me.

In his defence I would say he's a Thespian, and he has to talk posh to be considered for serious parts.
Tools of the trade and all that. Otherwise he'd just end up in a Sean Bean- Brian Glover-John Godber ghetto .

Don't think he is talking posh. He sounds similar to what he did in Billy Liar just deeper with more timbre due to age.

Watched Billy Liar 2 or 3 weeks back. Top, top film even without Julie Christie.
He speaks a non specific northern accent in that, not the Received Pronunciation he uses in interviews now.

One of my favourite films. Of course it was even better for having Julie Christie in, as is any film.

Billy Liar was one of the books my son had to study for GCSE, they were shown the film a couple of times. He thought that was an imposition because the film was black and white. As I said to him we had to study Henry lV part 1 and David Copperfield, he should count his blessings.
A common misconception was that, due to when it was made, it was a 60's film when it reflected the mores and the attitudes of the 50s when it was written.
Of course some may think it was neither muckling or mickling and it leaves them proper thraiped.

Spoke to Tom Courtenay a few times at away matches in the early 70s, got some of us into bars at a couple of clubs which wouldn't.allow non members in. Good bloke, had no airs and graces.

John Cleese is someone whose voice has changed considerably, even though he was originally from an upper middle class background. As for Brian Blessed, from Z Cars days he is unrecognisable.
