PS If you were a Super Mod, how would you address the heinous crime of bet welching by forum members? ... purely out of interest <ok>

  6. That is a good question, and one that deserves a full, yet straight, answer.

Well, the first thing I would most definitely do is assess all of the evidence, taking into account the representations of the two main protagonists to the dispute. I would ignore the partisan assertions and faux protestations of any pimply, lap-dog, brown-noser types.

I would consider any written evidence, taking especially note of when the bet was concluded and what the rules, at that stage, were laid down as. Any ambiguity would have to be exercised in favour of the loser. I would be extremely sceptical of rules that were added on after the two main protagonists had accepted the bet.

Finally, I would place a high degree of importance on whether or not the losing protagonist had actually changed his avatar to that of an Arsenal player (albeit that it isn't the exact type of avatar that the winning protagonist, acting in full-on-wum-mode, would like to see his opponent humiliated with).

Having thus reviewed all of the evidence, and having thus taken account of all relevant matters, I would make my adjudication, and find that HIAG had not welched on the bet as it was originally accepted.

See, Bambi... when you ask a sensible question I will provide you with a sensible reply.

  7. That's it, Skiddy. You take the entire board by surprise by coming out in support of Robbie's slanted and inaccurate recollection of events, one that completely exonerates you of acting like a twat and bringing a once-thriving and vibrant Chelsea board to its knees and reducing it to a desert.

I have ... to paraphrase it actually came across as "... he was so traumatised at losing a silly bet that poor HIAG would do anything not to comply with its' terms and, as a result, ended up looking particularly foolish and unfortunately lost a lot of respect from fellow forum participants as a result" ... fair play, that's far more accurate now <ok>

Maybe joining this a bit late but that was a bottle job of the highest order. You actually went 1-0 up before losing it. I would call that a bottle job.

We won't even go there with the chelsea game <laugh>

That's a lot of waffle to admit that you didn't 'fully honour the terms of the bet' as you were quoted saying.
