The trouble for Everton is that they've had an incredibly soft run of games at the start of the season, and going by fan reaction they've not exactly blown the doors off - but that's how they're 6th.

They've now got a somewhat more representative run of games, and there's a sense of fear they're going to get found out, particularly after all the big club/100m to spend etc noise they all made across the summer.

I will take a lot of pleasure in them failing, and Ron being sent packing, should that come to pass.

Another good result for Liverpool. Sorry.

(watch them draw 0-0 to Watford now)

Is it me, or are Chelsea (and possibly Liverpool <yikes>) about the only team in the PL who look unbeatable at the moment?

That's a million miles away from the stripes of old. Bordering on a work of art. Nice poppy touch.

I liked the use of this on their match thread halfway through the first half.

...I'm really enjoying Everton's mediocrity this season.

“Clubs are always going to be selfish and want to look after their own players. We are lucky with the Everton lads. We had a problem previously with Martinez. We felt he was over the top when the Everton players were turning up. It’s not a criticism of their players but more for Everton and their staff. They’re always carrying knocks. I always thought the Everton players were going to turn up on crutches or crawling in the hotel door. Now it looks like we are going to have that issue with Koeman.

“Everton, as a football club, I’m not sure when the last time they won a trophy. I think it was a good number of years ago. Maybe overloading players is a good thing. That means your club is being successful,” Keane said. “That’s a player playing week in, week out, playing midweek games. But Everton don’t play European football and they are out of the League Cup. I think Norwich beat them at Goodison so maybe Everton as a club, and it’s a brilliant football club, maybe their players need to toughen up a bit.”

    Always liked Roy Keane.

I'd be really cheesed off if he was our manager. We're not stupid....we know where we are in the world of football, but you don't need a manager talking about a player like this. Koeman doesn't seem that committed to Everton...everybody knows he won't stay there for ever, but, as a fan, you'd like him to sound as if valued your club.

True. It's not a lack of ambition or indeed eternal hope. What Everton fans (and some other clubs) don't seem to realise is that things have changed over the last 6-7 years so to do a 'Man City' is almost impossible. They got a billionaire at just the right time.

Everton fans are livid, Koeman just knocked 6 months off the time he'll be given to get them the status they think is deserved (above Liverpool and in the top 3).

The owner has said that there is no limit on the money Koeman can spend....bit daft to say that as it is patently untrue.

Tbf, there is a limit as Everton have to stay within FFP rules.
