I remember going to The Emirates stadium 2 years ago and buying a program. The attendances for every home game that season were shown as 60,019 which I assume was the capacity gate. Arsenal sell out all their season passes every season and they record the attendance as a sell out even if half of the supporters don't turn up for whatever reason eg tube strike or they were playing West Brom !
My son and his mate ( both members )didnt bother on Sunday. Another retired guy i usually go with is on about cancelling paying £40+ a month. He's just getting really fed up of all of it.
Saying "it's the same at every club" is absolutely not an answer. It's the same principle as "we do it this way cos we've always done it this way". Nonsense.
...that said, there's always a chunk of corporate unused in the less starry matches, and of course they are all counted whether anyone is in the seats or not. But that's not huge numbers I shouldn't think.
Ticket machine my arse. The people I go with were brought up paying cash at the turnstiles. Not breezing past a security man in a cheap shirt and tie waving you into the Premier Club as though you are something special. Also HTF do you 'rock up to a game' ?.
Explain to me how not allowing people to turn up on the day and pay cash at the turnstile is the way forward ? Not everyone wants to plan days in advance, have a printer, wants to pay via credit card or Bankers order, use a ****ing ticket machine, they just want to go to football with their mates. That's not nonsense. Nonsense is 10,000 empty seats last Sunday and no effort at all put into putting bums on them.
I would guess the difference in figures stems from accounting. The Allam figures are likely to be tickets sold, this will be higher then the attendance as some people with tickets may not actually make the match. As its a form of income these will need to be accurate for accounting purposes. The big difference between Allam figures and gate figures will include corporate tickets issued but not used. Every person entering the ground on match days will be accurately recorded for many reasons including: Policing requirements Security and incident management Fire safety legislation H&S legislation Alcohol licencing legislation Failing to do this would potentially have massive ramifications for the club
I'm not so sure the entrances will be recorded for Policing, H&S, Fire etc because I imagine the plans are all based on a full attendance anyway?
Easy. Strut in, head high, looking sharp. Nonchalantly flick your cigarette away, throw some shrapnel at the turnstile and walk in, unopposed. That's how I do it, anyway.
Just looked for when Ncastle tickets are on sale. Didnt know they were doing this, its for the W Brom game. Have they done this all season? Way round the concessions arguement? I bought two tickets for Sunday and woke up feeling rough so didn't bother. Giving that pair of twats £40+ for nowt really grates. Although I realised I might be the Jonah for at least 4 defeats.
