    Afternoon all,

Sorry just wanted to get my views out to some people who understand football (missus just nods when i talk football)

    OBERTAN

When i heard about us signing them i said to my mate i'd rather play with 10 men than have him in our side. However maybe i was a little quick to write him off. In all fairness he hasn't been given a chance at Manure and surely there must have been some potential there for SAF to purchase him? Maybe he's just a confidence player who needs someone to give him regular games and back him. Wrote Danny Simpson off too when he joined from Manure but i think he's been a quality player and def proved me wrong in my assumptions! Lets all hope my 1st thoughts were wrong too about Obertan and he becomes a decent player for us.

    STURRIDGE

Now that chelski have agreed a fee for Lukaku i think we should def attempt to sign Sturridge on loan. Understand that they may not want to sell him as he's one for the future but as they now have Lukaku, Kalou, Anelka, Drogba, Torres (along with Malouda sometimes off a front man) they have 7 possible strikers to choose from and think Sturridge will want another season of regular football rather than playing a bit part from the bench!

LINE UP FOR THE NEW SEASON

    Baring in mind Hatem is out for the start think we should start with;

    KRUL
    SIMPSON-STAYLOR-COLO-ENRIQUE
    JONAS-TIOTE-CABAYE-MARVEUX
    BEST-BA

With Joey not training with 1st team currently seems he wont be given that chance at the moment to play so Jonas and Marv on the wings providing the crosse's for BESTBA.

Presume when Hatem comes back Best may be dropped with Ben Arfa inbetween Ba and Midfield (Although maybe Pardieu may play Obertan instead of Best in same role as Hatem?)

    MIKE ASHLEY

Obviously i understand the views on him and i'm just as frustrated as anyone that more funds have not been spent but i actually think he's got the club on a very sound financial base that we can build on over the coming seasons. I would rather us be wise with cash than going out and buying another player in the Owen mould that cost us millions for little return. With our decent scouting system i think if more finds along the lines of Tiote, Ben Arfa, Cabaye can be found then the future looks bright (although a fe wnglish players would be nice)

    YESERDAYS GAME

Glad it got called off - know some people are not happy but i'd rather a game get called off half way through than try to play through it and a serious injury occur to one of our key men.

Good article, think Barton will stay though and hopefully Jonas and Marveaux will compete for a starting berth on the left.

Don't think Joey will leave just can't see how he can start in the team if he's not training with them currently?

I pretty much agree with everything there
Would anyone take Anelka for 5/6m? He's said he's happy to stay on another year at Chelsea but hypothetically..

I'd enquire about Kalou. Good, versatile player and wont get games, international team mate of Tiote's as well.

Think it's just a temporary thing, he and Pardew are going to meet this week and try to sort it out.

Can't see Anelka fitting in with the system i mentioned above. And for me a bit too old now - i think younger players (early to mid 20's) way to go.

I would take him for the right price
What we need is a proper solid striker

    my reply to your views:

    OBERTAN

if he's a confidence player he will go into his shell here when things go tits up with the players Vs board stand off that's brewing.
danny simpson was absolutely gash in his first season here (half on loan and even in the championship he looked ****), but he improved no end after surgery on his foot. i fear he was a special case, and i'm willing to put his improvement largely down to hughton, who worked mainly with the defence. comparing him with obertan? well... carver works with the attackers now so we'll see.

    STURRIDGE
i would love sturridge here, but fear it's a fairytale with the fatman in charge. if free transfers are expensive imagine how much loans must cost....

    LINE UP
i reckon we'll go 4-5-1, and i have a massive fear pardew will try to be eccentric and start with vuckic

    MIKE ASHLEY
i agree, i'm glad to see the back of the 'spunking ridiculous amounts of money on names who offer very little' era, but ashley has gone to the complete opposite, which isn't much better considering we need a striker who is actually quality, and we aren't going to get one of them in for less than 10mill (and fat fingers won't pay that)

IMO we need to play 5 midfielders against Le Arse:

    ---------------KRUL--------------
    SIMPSON-STAYLOR-COLO-ENRIQUE
    ----------GOSLING-TIOTE--------
    MARVEUX------CABAYE-----JONAS
    -----------------BA--------------

Those three in CM will give the midfield a battling quality that should work well against Arsenal, with some nice creative distribution from Cabaye playing in a more attacking role. Inverted wingers to give a more direct threat on goal, encourage a shorter passing game, and with only one upfront crosses wouldnt find him very often anyways.

Obertan is a very talented player. Looking forward to seeing him play.

Doesn't suprise me people are writing him off already based on a few odd subsitute appearences at Man United.
