Woke up thinking about it. Thought I had out matured that emotion. Was sat having breakfast thinking...even if we are 2 up I'll be bricking it...so today is going to be tense. Its going to make or break my week.
The one - minuscule - consolation in the event of a bad defeat is that it could serve as a much-needed tonic to kick start our season. Much like the defeat against Newcastle early last season gave us a kick that took us to the next level until pretty much April time. Kane, Toby, Lamela will all be back and fully fit the other side of the break. Every cloud has a silver lining, even the Spursy clouds.
Can't be worse than my nightmare last night. Lost 7 nil and 3 players sent off during the match and 4 red cards after final whistle And for your information....no amount of toilet roll cleans the bed sheets after such a horror dream...you just have to throw them out and hose yourself down And if you are having, just had or are about to have breakfast...
Worse than my dream where Sanchez handled on the line to stop a Kane header, nothing given. They went straight up the other end and Walcott punched one in and it was given!
Thought for the day fellow Yids All things are possible - just ask the Irish rugby team that just turned over the mighty All Blacks. Funny things can happen on derby day COYS
#THFC team: Lloris (C), Walker, Vertonghen, Wimmer, Rose, Dier, Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen, Son, Kane. #COYS Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Carter-Vickers, Winks, Onomah, Nkoudou, Janssen.
VERY interesting line up. We're going with brute strength it would seem. Alli must be injured which is a damn shame.
Casting my mind back to early last season, Dembele did surprisingly well operating in the '3', often serving as a very early first line of defence. His strength and retention made it very difficult for opponents to get out of their own box. But I'm exceptionally worried that 2 out of our front 4 are seriously lacking match fitness.
Poch abandons the left-right foot rule and I fully agree with his decision. Arsenal have one weakness - they don't like being bullied and pushed around and have always fared worse against the really physical teams in the league. The average height of our line up must be comfortably over 6 foot. The real concern is that Wimmer, Dembele and Kane are all going to be really rusty.
Considering the absences of Toby, Lamela, Sissoko and now apparently Alli, I am pleasantly surprised at the strength on our bench. Last season with those levels of absentees it would've been a joke.
Just go with low expectations and then you can't be disappointed! I really hope the boys are going to pleasantly surprise us and produce a performance we know they are capable of. I'd bite your hand off for for a draw right now though!
