Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink sacked as Queens Park Rangers manager

Hasselbaink leaves QPR after winning 27.7% of his games in charge

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been sacked as manager of Championship side Queens Park Rangers.

The Dutchman, 44, was appointed in December last year but won only 14 of his 47 matches in charge.

Hasselbaink left QPR after a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday, which leaves them 17th in the table and six points above the relegation zone.

The club said an announcement about its managerial situation "will be made in due course".

Former Tottenham and Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood had been linked with the job prior to Hasselbaink's departure.

The ex-Chelsea and Leeds striker had come under pressure following a run of just two wins since August.

But despite QPR's poor form, they trail sixth-placed Leeds by only six points in a tightly packed league table.

Last month, Hasselbaink was filmed as part of a Daily Telegraph investigation alleging corruption in football, apparently negotiating a fee to travel to Singapore to speak to a fake Far East firm.

QPR stood by the former Burton boss, saying a lack of evidence from the newspaper ended their investigation.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was one of three black managers in the EFL. The others are Chris Hughton (Brighton) and Keith Curle (Carlisle)

I am laughing, because Mancini, Pellegrini and Fat Sam are just ridiculous suggestions because they are way out of our price bracket and really wouldn't be interested in us anyway. Pearson would probably take it, but is certifiable.

What would be wrong with Giggs?

Never nice to see someone sacked but it was the atmosphere at Loftus Road that upset me most. Get someone in to get some results and get some atmosphere back.
Tim Sherwood is not the solution - he's yet another gamble that will backfire. Get someone in who knows the league and has some experience in getting out of it.
Personally I'd love Big Sam and I think we would be good for him. When Barton came back we were very forgiving!

Apart from he has no experience whatsoever?

He also stated that Swansea were not ambitious enough for him, so I don't see how he would have the slighest interest in coming to our part of West London. His financial expectations would probabl;y be a little rich for us as well!

Wasn't he player-manager at Man Utd for a short period, and then player-coach under Moyes (Edit - or vice-versa)? He also learned for 20 years under Ferguson. Not exactly no experience. He might well have greater ambitions, but he has to start somewhere. It's a more realistic suggestion than some others I've seen.

Oh well, here we go again. Que another underwhelming replacement most likely knowing our managerial history and with who is currently available!

EDIT: Who is available realistically being we are a small club in the lower half of a crap league!

Both Mancini and Pellegrini have enough money and may like a new challenge, especially pellegrini who said recently if he couldn't get a job he would quit football. Fat Sam could be a good fit, plenty of experience and after what has happened with England he would want to prove himself. Agree re Pearson as he would clash with Les too much. As for Giggs, surely you are joking? What Has he done in football management? I am not talking about helping out at Manure. What does he know about the Championship? It would be worse than Jimmy.
I don't want Monk, ince,McLeish,Mackay or the rest mentioned. Although i do like the sound of Guidolin. Laudrup would also be good.
