The lift that goes up to the top now (inside the tower) should only be entered with more than one person if you are with a very close friend! You squeeze in with them and it's so tight you need to decide whether your going to be face to face or cock to arse or arse to arse before you get in because there's no turning round once you're in it. I chose to face to face, and then spent the slow journey with our noses nearly touching in an uncomfortable silence...

A few of the contractors working on the bridge lodged in my local, some of the tales about going up in the lift were hilarious - garlic breath, stale beer smells and gaseous emissions were only the half of it!
