So Wilshere picks up a knock last Sunday and the club have rested him for a week and not played him in our pre season game so he can recover. Wenger said on Friday that Wilshere is still not fully fit and is a doubt for the Newcastle game. With all this information in hand, England go ahead and pick him for a pointless international game on Wednesday. What the hell is going on here? Well, this is pure and simple payback by the England set up to Arsenal after we made sure Wilshere did not go to the under 21's. Walcott is also injured but he actually started to train on Thursday and Friday but he has not been picked. Yet Wilshere has. So the England national team has become a set up which has people that want to start silly arguements which will lead to a break down in relationship between club and country. My money is on muppet Pearce having a lot to do with this call up of Wilshere. He is still smarting from being made to look like a fool by Wenger. They are wasting the guys time by calling him then checking if he is injured and if he is not fully fit but can play if PUSHED they will put him in the final squad just to annoy Wenger and send a message about their 'power'. And then the FA and co wonder and ask why the relationship between clubs and the national side is so poor right now. Lack of trust and people with agendas is a start to their question.
I have to agree. It's the calling up of half injured players for unimportant games and the frequency of bad injuries players pick up at these types of games that ruin all hope of cooperation
Wonder if Gerrard will miraculously make the first game despite being unavailable..ho hum. Is Rooney playing in the Community Shield today? Whats the betting he will pick up an 'injury' to miss the friendly, then be ok for the start of season?
to be honest i dont think many people are keen on playing international matches a week before the season starts, however i cant blame Capello for picking the players he wants for this squad its not his fault the game is when it is, but to be honest i can also understand his suspicions as to whether Wilshire is injured or if Arsenal dont want him to play agaisnt Holland, given the number of players are decalred unfit for an international then play a few days later is a bit silly really. So yeah i sympathise with both sides, ultimatly the problem is the timing of the freindly it really would be better to have the opportunity a week or two prior to the next proper internationals not the start of the season
If wilsheres not injured he wouldn't of gone off after 6 minutes...it would of been like gerrard etc, a "groin strain" that happened in training
