    Good Morning Everyone,

It was a good night for Antenucci last night...

What was your favourite Antenucci moment?

Should we have let him go?

Home secretary Amber Rudd says there will be no statutory inquiry or independent review of 1984 police clashes with miners
please log in to view this image

She has rejected the possibility of an inquiry into the “Battle of Orgreave”, the brutal clashes between police and miners during the 1984 miners’ strike.

The long-awaited decision will be regarded as a bitter blow to former miners and campaigners who hoped an inquiry would establish clear links between the misconduct by the South Yorkshire police during the Hillsborough disaster and their behaviour five years earlier at Orgreave.

    Thoughts?

Can Chris Wood get 25 goals this season?

    He is on 10 already!

The reason the Tories do not want an inquiry into Orgreave is because of Thatchers involvement.

If we were judging Mirco just as a player, he could still have offered something this year. However, as a person - he was a ****. At the matches you could see that he didn't care and was disruptive and clearly didn't want to be at Leeds. So getting rid was 100% the right decision.

    Morning Elland.

He wanted away, plus I don't think he would have made the starting eleven.

Woods is growing in confidence from what people are talking about and in reviews, maybe 20 is within his reach.

Miners, was in close proximity to all that, mixed views, but a workforce cannot be allowed to hold the country to ransom, lets stick to football pal.

Morning all. Wouldnt have Antenucci back. What we now have is better and all willing to give 100%. Dont hear any rumours of dressing room disharmony any more either. For the most part, the Italian experiment didnt work like many more of our experiments but its all in the past now. <ok> Interesting a few bar codes have made their way to our forum over the weekend. So the rumours appear to be wrong, some of them can read and write even if no one can understand a word of what comes out of their mouths

Morning Doha, Antenucci could score week in, week out, and then not score again for a few months. No consistency...

Morning Eire, good point about the dressing room harmony.

The Italian experiment was a disaster...

I'm afraid Orgreave was far more important than condemning a striking workforce it is about how the government of the day encouraged the police force to behave like the SS.

    Morning all

No we shouldn't sign Antenucci back. We're doing a hell of a lot better without him. Yes Wood can get to 25 Goals.

The thing with Orgraves in that if we had an inquiry in to the affair, the ex-miners etc etc wouldn't accept the finding and we'd have to have another one, until we cloned Thatcher and burned the poor thing alive.

I've never known such hate for one person that Yorkshire folk round Barnsley, etc, etc have toward her even Howard Wilson closed most of the mines

If you think it's bad in Barnsley, ask anyone of a certain age in Scotland, particularly Lanarkshire. Wasn't just the pits she closed down - it was the Steel Industry too. And unnecessarily so. I can only assume you've never lived in the North, or perhaps are too young to appreciate what she really did.

And let's not mention her selling off the family jewels. Gas, electricity, railway, coal, steel. Sold the lot 'cos of the ever-expanding national debt that she couldn't get under control. THAT'S why it became heavy-handed - she HAD to sell these industries or she was a goner. Do you really see any benefit of the 'competition' she promised the sell-off would bring? Don't like the price of your train ticket? Wait a few minutes and a competitor's train will pass by..... oh, wait a minute! <doh>

Again, don't mention the Falklands. Nice to have a jolly old war to keep you in power when you've lost your grip. Let's call them British, even though they have to get a visa to VISIT Britain. British my arse! All about money, and potential oil fields.

    Morning all.

Looks like we'll sell out for the Newcastle match (just a few hundred left if you look at the website) but does anyone know the current capacity of ER

By my reckoning about 3,700 seats were lost when the East Stand was redeveloped which means the capacity will be around 34,200.

Be interested to see the actual published attendance on that day as I think it will show we do not have sufficient capacity for the Premier League should we ever get back there.

No I wouldn't have Antenucci back, he was a half decent player who had some good moments but it was 100% the right decision to let him go. He never really fit in to the way we played and he was a bad egg.

Chris Wood is a far better option for us with the way we play now, and he should reach 20+ easily now. If we can get Doukara fired up like he has been recently then he could be a good stand in for Wood when he isn't fit.

If that was the cup replay game in 2011 it was prior to the East Stand redevelopment.

Have we played them at home since then I can't remember ?
