Sunderland has the worst ever record through 10 Premier League games Arsenal looked under threat for six minutes. Then they dismantled Sunderland easily. by Kevin McCauley@kevinmccauley Oct 29, 2016, 10:08a TWEET Sunderland is winless through their first 10 Premier League games, sitting bottom of the table with just two points. That's the worst start in history, but it didn't have to be that way. They started the second half of their game against Arsenal strongly, eventually won a penalty, and looked like they had a chance to win a point. It took less than 15 minutes for things to fall apart completely. Arsenal's second goal went in just six minutes after Jermain Defoe converted from the spot to get the Black Cats into the game, and the floodgates opened from there. Sunderland defended poorly, letting in two more simple goals. In the 65th minute, the home fans were singing for their team, and by the 77th minute, they were all flooding towards the exit. It's possible that next week's game against Bournemouth is a must-win for David Moyes. The teams in 17th place up to mid-table look stronger than usual, with an influx of television money giving every Premier League team plenty of cash to strengthen in the summer. An international break would give the Sunderland board an extra week to find a replacement, so failure to improve significantly against the Cherries could give them a reason to move on from Moyes. are you listening Short, you greedy penny pinching , **** yank, sell up and **** off your destroying our club
Short and Murray have wrecked this club Amsterdam, yet we will get castigated for saying that the facts are there, sam turned down Wolves today so he might be coming back he needs about £100 m to save us in Jan.
I'm scraping the barrel here for any positives but Manchester City actually had a worse start after 11 games in the 1995-96 season So if we avoid defeat by 4 clear goals on Saturday then they can have their crap record back.
Lets cut through the crap. It's blatantly obvious Moyes is totally and utterly out of his depth. Forget the excuses and all the rest of it. Allardyce is THE ONLY man that can keep us up! He has already proved he can do it last year! He offered hope and we were always confident that we would stay up last season with him in charge. If we can't get him back i say stick with Moyes for the long term even knowing we will definately get relegated. But if we can get BSA back we must do it and do it now. He only left us cos England came calling and i for one don-t hold a grudge against the bloke for that. It's a no fkn brainer!!
Just to put some perspective on this we only got out the bottom three last year against a disinterested Chelsea team, followed by a win against a dispirited Everton team. Not knocking enthusiasm or euphoria of last year, just balancing things out with a dose of reality.
This is exactly the type of comment that drives me up the wall. I respect your opinion and i genuinely mean that BUT the fact of the matter is we progessively improved last season under Allardycye and lost 1 out of the last 11 with him in charge and that was against Leicester. He got the best out of players like Kone and Kahzri and we looked solid in defence in the end. Moyes had 7 weeks to sign a back up striker and failed. The defence is a shambles and Defoe looks lost! Just my opinion but please dont belittle Allardyces achievement last season and try and make out Moyes has any chance of turning things around.
But you have got me all wrong. From the outset I was one of Sam's biggest supporters during his efforts to keep us up and that placed me in a minority at the time and if you remember rightly not many thought he was doing much. There was even one entry on here where Comm and Tel thought I would be the one to lead the **** fest if Sam did keep us up as I had so much faith in him doing it and constantly said so and I will stand by my record. So in a way I was doing for Sam then what I am doing for Moyes now, performances not good but not deserving of some the huge criticisms that have been leveled given all our circumstances. I think Marcus covered our lack of signing a striker previously so we got what was available at our level. Like most on here I was overjoyed we stayed up and was happy that Sam would take us forward at least into a stability period for a couple of seasons. No doubt his ability was in making us hard to beat but given our run of injuries amongst other things Moyes, in a sense, has only half a team to work with and there is a bigger picture to look at.
