Let me help you because you seem to have difficulty answering questions which don't suit your twisted view of reality. Sunderland's average league attendance was a shameful 17,254 in that season. Against a highest attendance of an (alleged) 75,000. The only conclusion anyone could draw from that is that Sunderland fans were the same fickle, part-timers they are today.

And the result was a 1-0 loss to Derby County. Goal scorer? One (time traveller extraordinaire, by all accounts) Peter Ramage.

Surprising more didn't die in the crush with 75000 all rushing for the exits at the same time after they went a goal down. Some things never change.

Somebody else probably said it first, back in 1768, whilst chiseling a ship. The dirt was gone from a record 250,000 houses with one bottle, more than you've ever dreamt of.

Have NUFC ever been in the third tier? No. Have the Mackems? Yes.

Who has spent the longest in the PL and old first division? NUFC

Point - History tells us that NUFC are the superior club. I know that is difficult to swallow but facts don't lie.

Unbelievable!!!!!! I lay down a list of the records responsible for the envy by Newcastle supporters, and after trawling through the record books all they can come up with is an instance of Sunderland loosing a game

I reiterate what I have said before, past history and near history show conclusively that the record of Sunderland AFC over N.U.FC is the superior of the two, it is not something that is open for discussion rather a statement of the facts as they occurred, even to the stage over the past few seasons when they have been unable to provide what could be called a reasonable opposition

The truth is decided by facts not by majority decision

From the mouths of babes, as D.O.T points out the tradesman from Sunderland was using a chisel at the time his counterpart in Newcastle used a pick and shovel, is it any wonder this envy of Sunderland has grown out of proportion

As I am constantly castigated for quoting past history could you let the people on this forum know where these figures come from

Is that the one where Sunderland have won the highest honour in the highest division in English football SIX ( 6 ) times and have also been runners up five times ?

Of course, we both won 9 games out of 38 which is total ****e and roughly 9 more than Sunderland have won so far this season. We both deserved to go down, we did and Sunderland didn't. Well done, I hope you enjoy the season your team have earned.

    Out of interest.

I actually quite like Sunderland - don't really buy into the petty rivalry stuff - and post on their board a lot. Can't say I've ever really noticed you though, how come?

It is a good haul to be fair. It's just a shame that neither club has anything in my lifetime to actually point at as having 'won' and I'm not that young...
