I think Boufal was signed as the extra 'striker' in summer tbh. I agree we're light up top but I think we're fine in most other places. It's been a poor game on our part, we haven't been in it at all. But we've also kept many teams quiet this season and we have to be realistic that at the moment we aren't on the level of Chelsea, City, Arsenal etc. We're going to lose some of these games, its when we start losing to teams around us, West Ham, Stoke, Everton etc regularly that I'll be worried.
I'm not disputing any of that 2nd paragraph but I'm not making the observation based on this game. You may remember I was one of the most vocal regarding this at the end of the window... I even got accused of a meltdown And yes we needed one as well as Boufal.
I'm not accusing anyone of a meltdown, its not a meltdown to want to sign players. it's natural to be disappointed when we lose but when we smash them at Stamford Bridge we'll all forget about it
Our centre backs and Romeu are the only ones that have defended well. Everyone else has been a revolving door.
I know you're not(?) it was a tongue in cheek comment about the response I got at the end of the window. Was just making the point that I (and others) are not making observations on this game alone.
Chasing shadows. Better tactics. Better defensively. Better in midfield. Better up front. More clinical. More organised. Sometimes you just have to say well played. Not that we've helped.
