And another thing... Why, all of a sudden, do footballers not score two goals? Why does it have to be a brace? We're not hunting hares or pheasants here. These things go in and out of fashion, I know. I'm now waiting for strikers to play up front again, instead of this bloody awful up top.

And players should fall to the ground, rather than he floor. And the `frame of the goal` - what`s that about ?

Indeed. Good, subtle one there. Mind you, I've never quite fathomed what the upright is. Because it is always mentioned when a ball hits the junction between the post and bar, and the only upright bit is the post itself. So the shot has hit the post, hasn't it?

    "The woodwork" - it's metal.

FWIW watching MOTD I think the Nolito yellow was correct, even though it was Lee Mason.

...as it has been many years since the sound of the ball bouncing off it went "thud". Now it's a steely sounding "biff" :)

And the sound of the goalkeepers studs on the posts go "clang" when they try to shake their boots of dirt. Dead giveaway.

    I'm happy for Gastón. :)

Will always like him. There's a brilliant player in there.

Same here. He's one player who I think I couldn't think poorly of if he scored against us. Now there's odd. I have to think about that one.

I'm happy for him, but I'd prefer he didn't do special moments so I don't have to hear about him. Judging by how good that goal was, he'll be missing for about three months now.

MOTD graphics department tonight doing their level best to make Southampton look intimidating. Do the people in the hi-block get the same good view as the apartment owners at The Dell? No, they don't. I once had the professional chance to find out:

He's actually been very good for Boro on a fairly consistent basis, since he went there. Good for him. I say. ;)

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, 44, is on Real Madrid's managerial wanted list. (Sunday Mirror)

    Rickie?

If we played Cardiff in the FA cup and we were 2/3 nil up n they got a pen... I'd definitely be wishing him to score...

I'd probably even boo Fraser if he saved it <laugh>

Rickie would be too well mannered. ;)

I like the Fraser split loyalty.

He was great in the Champ for them, Boro fans couldn't believe their good fortune. Many initially we stunned by his previous price tag. But, for them, it made sense come the run in. This season he's been back old premiership Gaston; that goal though could be the start of something. The pace was a surprise too!

I have nothing but respect for Gaston. He was a massive young talent when he joined us as a newly-minted PL team, and at no point did he say a word when he was left out of the starting XI. He went on loan without complaint, and when he dropped into the Championshup, he gave it his all and helped Middlesbrough to promotion.

Things don't always go to plan; Gaston is a great example of someone willing to take the hard route to success.

Agree - until it is accepted to have them pictured falling out of nightclubs with their HABs, there is no true equality in that sense.
