Having watched Kenny's post match interview after todays game, the reporter attempted to get Kenny to single out one individual. He cleverly refused to. Now in my opinion that is excellent management.

There was comments like ''Didn't Aquilani do well'' and ''Stewart Downing was impressive''. Both were impressive, but Kenny refused to be drawn into individual performances and was more concerned with the collective performance. He has said previously and its something I 100% agree with, and that is there is ''No I in team''.

In other words, you win and lose as a team. This is something that has impressed me regarding Kenny. I don't think he does ''favourites''. He treats all players exactly the same.

I doubt it if reputation alone will keep players in the side. The ones that are in the side will have to keep their performances up to an acceptable standard, the ones that aren't will have to be chomping at the bit to get into the side.
    Thoughts.

    Agreed.

I suspect that, in private, Kenny will be praising certain players about their performance today. However, it seems the team works well together and that, in my opinion, is more important than individual performances. The team needs to be able work well together and today showed that they can.

Buzzing for the new season now!

If he praises individual players, expect it to not be the players he trusts. He won't say anything to them, the less he says to them according to them the more he trusts them. I expect it to be the players that need a confidence boost and need to know that they are important. I reckon he'll spend more time talking to the new players and the younger players than he will to the ''stalwarts''.

Was glad to see Agger play most of the game, the lad is one of my favorite players when on the pitch. Hope he has a good run of fitness now to help us get a good start to the season. Next weekend could not come fast enough, getting excited now.

Spot on..I think the spine of the team know what kenny thinks of them but some will need more praise or arm round the shoulder than others esp the young lads.
However,I know he will show more feeling to the players than rafa ever did.He always annoyed me when a player would come off after having a great game and he would totally blank them at times.A hand shake and a 'well done' go a long way.
He sure knows how to handle the media..don't think me will be seeing a Keegan style melt down or a Rafa rant..in fact I think he will get under the toughest of skins, are you listening Fergie.

Living in the North east I'm sure it will be broadcast around Sunderland somewhere, on a plus note...9 of our first 13 games are broadcast on Sky Sports or ESPN.

    Kph.
    Spot on.
This was mentioned to Kenny before about ''kidiology'' aka ''mind-games'', Kennys response was, ''Well I'm too long out of short trousers to fall for that and he knows it''.
It doesn't take a genius to work out whom he was refering to. Kenny is too clever to react to rubbish like that. He will deal with it quickly. If its harmless he will shrug his shoulders and dismiss it and laugh it off. If its a thinly veiled attack on him or his team, expect him to respond with a short and painful put-down. And he does painful put-downs. He won't have to think twice about slamming that particular persons mouth shut..firmly shut.

Kenny has class and grace. Unlike someone else that lacks both.

“Nobody does this to me, nobody does this to Kenny Dalglish. You’re a wee bastard and you won’t get away with this.”

I felt very uneasy about the situation. But here was Kenny Dalglish insisting that I honour a deal I hadn’t signed. The same Kenny Dalglish who’d spent several months “tapping” me up behind Brian Clough’s back.

He called me names. He repeated that nobody “****ed” with Kenny Dalglish and “got away with it”.

    Class and Grace........

Dont try and take the moral highground lad,Japp Stam tapped up wined and dined by fergie in an Amsterdam restaurant and shipped out of OT as soon as he told the sordid story in his biography.

There is more than Jaap Stam.
Theres Arjen Robben whom a certain Alex Ferguson rang on his mobile?
There is Owen Hargreaves whom Karl Heinz Rummenigge is still furious with Ferguson over.
And heres a question has Kenny Dalglish ever kicked a boot at a players head?
Has he ever threatened to fine any player that laughed after a defeat?
Has he ever taken players back from a loan spell just because a club sacked his son?
Has he ever boycotted a television station just because they told the truth?
Ferguson has loads of class and grace.

Roy Keane is a prick with ears. He's not exactly the sanest person in the world.
Whats the difference between God and Roy Keane?
God doesn't think he's Roy Keane.

Am I the one claiming Sir Alex is whiter than white? Or Roy Keane for that matter, as I'm sure you were trying to imply kph103.

KPR was gushing about Dalglish's "Class and Grace", I posted a link that shows the true face of the man behind his carefully crafted, media image.

Make of it what you will.
