    https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...everton-ronald-koeman-january-transfer-window

Moshiri chatting complete nonsense again <laugh>

Before: “Sissoko is a great player. But when I bought into Everton, I made it clear I was proud to join a family. And we don't turn our backs on our own."

Now: “The manager is totally committed and ruthless; if a player is not up to it he uses another player and eventually he buys one. There are no sentimental issues there."

BTW the squad investment and stadium are definitely still coming <ok>

    Actually most telling line is

In Everton’s culture the manger is the most important individual. He achieved eighth and seventh with Southampton. He needs to improve on that but it is a very difficult landscape now.”

Koeman says Lukaku needs to leave Everton to fulfill his #ambition

Wow, #smallclub mentality, or Moshiri only bought Everton because he was promised Stones and Lukaku fees for investment?

I think Koeman has dug his own grave by openly encouraging Lukaku to leave.

Just read it in the paper whilst making a brew. To say something like that after the Chelsea game is just shooting yourself in the foot.

Poor choice of words, he was bulling him up, but saying that he'd have not fulfilled his potential if he stayed with us long term, whilst being an honest appraisal, has gone down like a lead balloon.

Maybe lost in translation. Remember he's not an Englishman. Nevertheless, he should know better.

It is honest, but honesty isn't always the best policy, and giving a titbit like that to a rabid media is always going to get you into lumber.
They'll make the most of it and he'll be accused of lacking ambition and so forth.
When faced with journos, it's always best to answer questions as neutrally as possible, and never volunteer anything outside of the party line.
I like Koeman and I think he should do well for you, but he's lobbed them a treat there.
