I'm happy about Puel switching things around when he has all the players to choose from, but am more concerned when too many are forced on him. Hope we stagger through to the quarters.
What is it with injuries? One season it was shin-splits, another metatarsals, then cruciate ligaments etc etc ... and now its hamstrings. Correct me if I'm wrong but all our injuries are hamstrings except Pieds. Any Physios care to offer an opinion?
One thing that makes me laugh. We are lowly Southampton. We are in Europe, EFL and the Premier league, but we will 'only' make 5 or 6 changes. Klott makes 11 when he has NO distractions to worry him. We have to win now. We March On.
Harder/more training, more games, increased workload during games, not suitable recovery, forced back too early. Luck. Loads of reasons. Hamstring is a hugely common injury in football though.
Will be interesting to see how Moyes approaches this fixture - concentrate on the EPL and discard the League Cup or take the opposite and try to win the Cup to get some kudos. Hopefully he will be as muddled as ever - pick a half-baked team and lose anyway!
Moyes has said he will make changes, but I'm sure he knows that any win can help when you are in a slump. A cup win can really lift the spirits. In the lap of the gods.

With JWP and McQueen also playing, i wonder if any numpty will be complaining that Puel never took the game seriously
Am I wrong in thinking that every one of our hamstring sufferers played international football shortly before their injury? Vin
