When Jack Rodwell is included in Sunderland's startling line-up, the North East side's supporters can be forgiven if it gives them a bad feeling.

That is because Rodwell has started 32 times in the Premier League since his £10million move from Manchester City in 2014, and won none.

The England international with three caps has drawn 15 and lost 17, and seen Sunderland secure just 15 points from a possible 96.

Rodwell started on Saturday when Winston Reid scored a 94th-minute winner for West Ham to leave Sunderland bottom

Rodwell, though, will point out that he has an impact when coming on as a substitute, having won five, drawn five and lost 10.

Next up for Sunderland in the Premier League is the visit of Arsenal to the Stadium of Light next Saturday lunch-time.

More pressing stats to worry over imo. Like the 69 games out of the last 85 league games we've failed to win regardless of who is in the team.

Aye Sam had a better start with some wins but we still lost 7 out of his first 10. We had Yann as well which is a world of difference.

I thought Rodwell was very good on Saturday. Hardly put a foot wrong. Calm and collected and made some very good tackles. He and the two centre backs looked solid all game. Its not his fault Moyes' tactics gave West Ham too much time on the ball and that he decided to put men behind the ball for the last 15 or so when West Ham were offering no threat and we should really have been taking the game to them.

    this is just more negativity.
to put a positive spin on it at least he's fit and playing regularly, which you couldn't say a year ago.

Not sure if that's a positive or not.... <laugh>

On a serious note though I think Rodders has been decent this year.
