That's the stewards for you. You know the stadiums rules about the sizes and the fire resistance. So why post this? The banner could have said "Happy Birthday Steve Bruce" and they would still have stopped it.
Don't forget one for the legendary Wiggo. Even there you can see people resolutely remaining seated. Can see a former regular poster from CI on there wrestling with the stewards. I saw him on the concourse not long after, he was still winded from a punch to the stomach from a steward.
That is why the reason given by the club for the actions of the stewards was that the banner was supposedly obstructing the views of fans then.
Bollocks. Though at least that ridiculous situation meant they daren't try and remove the ones that followed. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Can I just say I'm really enjoying The Omega Man's attempts to pour oil on troubled waters and rebuild bridges amongst City fans. Admirable stuff.
Congratulaions Spes. There have been previous references to Greek mythology on here but I believe that is the first time Sisyphus has had a mention. Charon the ferryman will appreciate when he gets back from the Styx (Styx, not the sticks).
there have been some, and some supported from here, but it seemed, as an outsider, to not be as easy as it should have been (that's even ignoring the one which was used as a tug of war with stewards) I've never been someone who would bring a banner anyway, but the main problem is the club refusing to use the name imho
Why don't you just ask me? I believe in supporter involvement, knock the guts out of that. I go to football to enjoy myself, even if the game is dire, I still have a great time with my mates. It isnt me who is deluded its you, you daft ****.
No good football will get the atmosphere back. You will never get the South and West stand chanting but the East and North stands where quiet on Saturday for one reason. The team where ****e the whole ****ing lot of them looked and played as if they didn't want to be there. There was no fight in the team until the last 20 minutes when Abel and Dio came on. I have seen better Sunday league teams. Weir is not good enough to lead the line. Our team is not good enough to only have one up front. When we played the early part of the season it was 4-3-3 and we should go back to that and drop Meyler for Hendricksen, he has been **** the last two matches.
It wouldn't be more fun, if they were having that much fun at the match they'd ignore the advertising signs and wouldn't give a **** what anybody thought about an electronic sign saying clap. Our signs are embarrassing because our fans don't make any noise. On another subject dear to our hearts, Delilah in the song have sounded pretty spectacular in the North stand because of the lack of bodies in the upper west. The reverb was impressive.
To improve the atmosphere requires two things which most people have. An ability to ignore what's happening on the pitch and to open their mouths and make a noise. You don't need the permission of the Allams to do either. If you have the ability to do the first you don't need us to be winning or playing well. The closer together the people who want to make a noise are the more effective it becomes. The Allams have ensured there is plenty of space in the North stand. If enough people want to move the club may even do a deal on any upgrades, if they are asked. There is no excuse for us not being able to create a better atmosphere.
If people were having as much fun at an indoor match in this country it would be abandoned very quickly. I love yet another reason for away support of 1,700 being more noisy than the home. As I said re the PAOK, Aris , Boca and River Plate ones how do they manage to create an atmosphere without a roof. Oh, yes. As you said they open their mouths. Heaven knows how deafening it would be at those grounds if they had a roof to keep the sound in.
If everyone who whinges about the **** atmosphere actually got off their arses and started a chant once in a while, we could have one of the best atmospheres in the country. It's not that hard....the main problem at the moment is just how depressing the whole experience around the club is. The 1st home game after the Allams go will be a different story
An atmosphere can't just be invented at the drop of a hat, it has to be a natural thing and no amount of banners or flags or waffle on here is gonna change that, it's just not there at the moment and it's squarely down to the Allams. They've ripped the heart and soul out of our club and the most raucous and vociferous of our fans have been forced out of the support base to be replaced by Johnny comelatelys and premier leagu types, ironic really because the very type of people we need were the first to jump ship, good job there's not a war on. The atmosphere will only improve when we have new owners, but it seems things may get a whole lot worse before they get better. ALLAM OUT
