Evening Peeps, I'm meeting a TV production company tomorrow morning (just one of those homes under the hammer types) so thought I would kick the Breakfast debate off early. Leeds won on Saturday, albeit a scrappy 1-0 at Molyneux. Would you take a scrappy 1-0 any day of the week, or do you want more? Is a scrappy 1-0 enough to get you back on the terraces? Talking about terraces, if there was a section of the ground you could stand in, would that make it better? If so, why? Quite rightly Jansson has been singled out for some great performances, but given the choice, who is better, Bartley or Jansson? please log in to view this image Here's a picture of Ken Bates in the mid 80's showing off his new electric fencing at Stamford Bridge. please log in to view this image Did they deserve to have electric fencing? Back then the terraces were a lot different to how football matches are now. In hindsight, were the electric fences neccessary at the time?
morning (see what I did there ell?) ... the Wolves win showed that the team has fight in them, and they want to improve ... after the Wigan hurt, they could easily have gone to Molineux with their tails between their legs and got battered, but they fronted up, took the lead and this time saw the game out ... it shows a winning mentality, and an environment where failure now isn't an option, and half hearted performances from players aren't tolerated anymore ... this group is starting to police themselves, and that can only mean improvement ... Monk's got us moving forward nicely, long may the progress continue Bartley is, without doubt, a real calming influence, and he is also capable of spotting an effective long pass rather than a wasted hoof up the park ... Jansson is a firebrand, constantly winding his team up and making full on challenges ... they really complement each other, and they are so different it's difficult to make a comparison ... they have had a huge impact on our improvement this season, well done to Monk and Pep for getting them here electric fencing should be put back up at the Bridge Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Morning all. Well done Matt on your elevated status to TV star. Next stop I'm a celebrity and big brother I've no doubt. Re chelseas electric fence, a real pity bates didn't get stuck to it. Big difference this season is we're taking the leads in matches and for the most part holding on. Last season and before, it was invariably us going a goal down in first ten minutes and spending rest of game either chasing it or just giving up. Surely down to having a proper defence. Maybe why Taylor is no longer the stand out defender either, the others around him are as good or better
Morning all. Firstly Pontus is brilliant and by far the best most inspirational defender we've had in ages, but Bartley is also complemented him and together they are the best in the league. Ken Bates was right in those days as Chelsea scum fans were probably the worst , but as they liked to be called the Inter City crew loads of London nutter fans joined in and we've seen West Ham fans start again recently in their subsidized new ground. Milwall have always had a nutter element, but today is different, yes plenty of nutters at all teams but most have been priced out or grown up and we move away from being the curse of European football. Still thnk we will batter some team soon as we aint scored early yet this season. When we do, someone will get it but so sick of not getting settled and having to wait for at least half hour or into the 2nd half before we score. This is the only thing missing for me as our defence is having to be great for too long and last season would have seen us relegated if we had the same strike rate as this season as our defenders would have buckled. Come on guys help our defenders by scoring and taking the pressure off.
Morning all... defence is making the difference this season. We seem to be conceding fewer, we seem to have more possession, only thing not to improve is chances per game but overall a definite improvement so if Cellino keeps faith who knows.
Two crocodile clips linked by wire and the fecking thing fused. Always prepared. Wasn't the ICT West Ham? I thought Chelsea were the arse (or was it head) hunters or something similar?
A ****in chicken run would keep out all the support youve left. Talkin about living in a fantasy world
I'm hopeful Saturdays game may have released a bit of pressure on Roofe, Tuesdays game may shed some light.
There should be terracing at all grounds, or safe standing as they call it. Nobody wants to go to a game and sit down for 90 minutes. I've never sat down anyway so it doesn't matter to me but for people at the front they always get told to sit
Hey'up Elland, The passing football has improved, our defence has definitely improved, midfield has improved when all the good players are playing together but we're lacking in striker power and shots on target, be it by head, foot or bum. Wigan wasn't a brilliant game as such, and we conceded in injury time, Wolves wasn't a brilliant game and we never scored. Our defence have their work cut out for'em cos we're not doing enough business up front, we're scraping wins and draws. Looking at Bartley's and Janssons stats alone, you can see the work they've had to put in, Janssons stats will obviously change as he plays more games. Add Aylings and Taylors stats and we have a very very busy defence, somewhere along line fatigue or burnout are going to kick in. We have better teams ahead of us, we have better attacking teams ahead of us and we have better defensive teams ahead of us, and I can't help thinking we're going to get hammered pretty soon, it's going to be a big wake up call for Monk if it happens. 10th spot is a great position to be in at this part of season, but the second half is going to be the telling period.
I think we will see a lot of changes on Tuesday. I would expect Berardi, Cooper, Silvestre, Antonsson, Grimes, Mowatt and maybe even Doukara to start. I feel pretty sure Wood, Sacko, O'Kane will all be rested along with one of the CB's, an ideal chance to get Berardi back into action, RB or LB though?
Perhaps he is one... nobody could be a wallie really could they? I was one for 90 minutes yesterday. FAF
Don't think there'll be that many changes, Silvestri for Green and maybe Berardi at LB for Taylor with a quarter final tie at stake
What team?....... I can't help thinking we're walking a tightrope just lately Eire, and Monk doesn't seem to have any plan B's.
