Any formation will work if you have good players who are up for it (pretty much). 4-4-2 would seriously limit the attacking capabilities of this Leeds team by focussing the goals on the poaching striker like we did with Beckford. Our attacking quartet usually works fine, except we're lacking Becchio, Snodgrass looks (unsurprisingly) like a player who's had no pre-season and the midfield aren't serving them anything. I blame Bates. <ok>

So does the Leeds end. BATES OUT, BATES OUT!

Im sorry but i know its th first game...but i feel the following

We cant defend...nothing has been learnt in pre season
Gradel is not playing at all and looks liek he is not bothered
McCormack shocking cant hold the ball up...
    Midfield light weight

well..thats it SS2 switched off as i have already upset the misses and the kids :)

at least i will save a quid on a Sunday newpapaer tomorrow....

and we will be bottom of the table tonight at this rate....

That free kick from O'Dea sums up our performance. An absolute shocker.

    <ok>

I await the inevitable gloating from fans of every shade coming onto this board, from scum fans who live in Leeds who I have the misfortune of knowing and from the goading gutter press like Talksport. And I ****ing relish it! Makes me even more proud to follow this great club which has sadly been infected by a cancer known as Ken Bates.

    Leeds Leeds Leeds!

I take back everything I've said about Brown. He's ****.

AOB is absolutely terrible - has he actually had a good performance in a Leeds shirt yet? He was **** last season, and is **** now.

Billy Paynter...when we bring him on to try a salvage anything it's embarassing.

Darren O'Dear is terrible. If Grayson had scouted him last season, then he'd know this.

The strikers aren't getting anything. The ball is hoofed to McCormack, and only about 5 of our players are comfortable in possesion. Connolly hoofs it everytime.

Agreed. The game is over now so I feel I can vent too. We're lacking a playmaker in midfield, Brown's had an off day, though I think he'll perform better in most games and I'd rather have seen Tom Lees start than the ever-shaky O'Brien, though the main culprit for this tame-looking side has to be Bates, the man who's ****ing our club down the drainpipe and expecting Grayson to improve without any funding. Hope he dies soon.

Ask any Leeds fan at the end of last season what positions we needed to strengthen, and they'd say Leftback, Centreback and Centremid.

We've signed one 34 year old who enjoys kicking people, and one absolutely **** leftback on loan for half a season.

We're spending £7million building a ****ing museum, sold a player for £1million but we can't even afford to strengthen the team?

That's £8million - sign a quality leftback, a quality centremid, and a quality centreback and we'd still have enough money to pay AOB, Billy Payner and Bessone the rest of their **** contracts.

The fact that we did not spend much money to strengthen the squad has probably left most people including the players feeling flat. There is no real buzz around the place. Even a lot of die hard fans are predicting 8th-9th place at best.

If you don't move forward, you are almost certainly going backwards. This sums up Leeds for me over the last few months.

We had the perfect opportunity when we were sitting second last season to seriously push on. I fear we may not reach those giddy heights this season when you look at the quality of the championship this season compared to last season. Norwich took advantage of the golden opportunity last season, unfortunately we did not for a variety of reasons.

I will not shed a tear for Simon if things don't improve. No guts, no glory.

It's only one game. Saints are obviously a good side. I think we'll both get stronger as the season goes on.

Strong outfit you've got, propping up 22 other teams.

    <laugh> Great joke.

    Hate Leeds! <grr>
