Okay so Magic Man's thread about favourite players got me thinking about an Arsenal all time XI (it's probably been done before but so what)

So, you have to pick your best XI, no shoehorning players into wrong positions (like Wenger does ;) ) and five subs

    .........................Seaman.............................
    Dixon.........Adams.....Koscielny.....Sansom
    Ljungberg....Vieria....Rocastle ....Overmars
    .......................Bergkamp............................
    ........................Henry..................................

    Subs:

    Lukic
    Keown
    Petit
    Ozil
    Wright

Really like Koscielny but theres no way he's better than Boulde or Campbell.

    ----------------------Seaman------------------------
    Lauren------Adams-----Campbell---------Cole
    ----------Vieira-----Petite-------Pires-------------
    --------------------Bergkamp------------------------
    ------------Wright--------------Henry---------------

Subs: Lehmann, Keown, Dixon, Overmars, Ozil, Baston...

    Basically the invincibles with tweaks:

    Seaman

    Dixon
    Adams
    Campbell
Cole (although I hate the **** who shoves phones up his arse and nearly crashes for 5k)

    Pires
    Vieira
    Brady
    Merson

    Bergkamp
    Henry

Cant believe you think Giroud is better than Wright, Van Persie, Drake or Anelka.

Drake is going back a bit isn't he - though he's got one hell of a record...

Your (and our) best goalkeeper was Pat Jennings. GOAT.

Pat Jennings was great. But Seaman was world class.

You missed a true great. Has a claim to be the best ever. Keith Burkinshaw was among our best managers, but freezing Jennings out (for Barry ****ing Daines) was the single worst football decision ever made.

I saw Jennings play for NI in the World Cup, but I never saw him in the flesh for Arsenal. I started going in 1984/85 when John Lukic was establishing himself. He was really important keeper for us. But David Seaman was the best I've seen between the sticks for Arsenal.

I was lucky/privileged to sit next to Pat Jennings at a Charity dinner once. A more humble and self-effacing person I have yet to meet. We got him to open up a bit and I told him that the save I most remembered him making was a point blank one from Kenny Dalglish when we beat Liverpool at Highbury in about 1983. I asked him which of his save he remember the most proudly and he replied "the same one". Nobby Stiles was on our table as well - a really great night.
