So proud and happy that we have played this game, as ever, as Saints. We dominated, even though we lost. And we have played not as any other team, but in the Southampton way, with young players with potential and home-grown talent mixed with shrewd purchases and a forward-looking board and manager making slow but steady progress. It's been an amazing journey - long may it continue!
Also very proud of our players keeping their cool in spite of the ridiculous amount of play-acting and blatant refereeing bias. Hojbjerg almost lost his **** but one of our players could have easily been sent off for lashing out.
Still I feel we have ****ed up not getting another striker in. We now have to rely on Austin, Rodriguez and Redmond for a few months.
What a night! So proud of the team. So proud of the fans, the atmosphere was incredible. What a stadium. We played them off the park
Refereeing was appauling but I can't come away disappointed. The experience was phenomenal and to say we outplayed Inter Milan, despite losing, well I still have to pinch myself. Fans were amazing too, inside and outside the ground. Great trip.
Agree with both. Despite the loss still possibly my favourite away game ever? Were any of you down the canal? Just got back to hotel and debating whether to hit local night clubs
Sam Gallagher may be a shout to recall from loan in January sometime. Long, Austin, Rodriguez, Redmond, Tadic, Boufal are pretty good as attacking players to be honest.
We'll also have 3 pretty decent RBs when Jeremy Pied returns. Truth is, we're pretty good in the defensive department.
Looking at the line-ups between Inter and Saints, and Éver Banega was on the subs bench for Milan. There used to be rumours galore of us chasing him. It appears that we have definitely moved on.
Only just seen this... I (and others) did say this at end of the window but was accused of having a meltdown... Please stay fit Charlie
This looks pretty good still. Courtesy of BBC Sport [yes, they're still displaying it incorrectly elsewhere on their site]:
How far have we come when the headline on BBC Sport is "Southampton dominate but lose to Inter Milan"

On official Europa site, we are third. GD does not decide it if teams are on equal points. It is decided by stats between the teams concerned....this seems right to me as it negates the effect of one big scoring game against a different team. 16.01 If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied in the order given to determine their rankings: a. higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question; b. superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question; c. higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question; On this basis we are equal with Hapoel so assume they gone for alphabetical.
So that makes us 2nd. We drew 0-0 to hapoel, scored more goals and have a better GD, or am I totally wrong?
