'Non contact incident while training', another hole in the training ground like Brady found a while back?
That's a real shame, it means the search for a full back in January is now a major priority, as it should have been in August.
It's very strange. There'll inevitably be an Allam spat on here with lots of insults, but it doesn't detract away from gross incompetence on the club's part if they thought that the squad we had was the right size to survive in the PL. Whatever the reason for the lack of investment/signings, it's not good and we're going to need a good January window (something we haven't had in my opinion since Long/Jelavic arrived) to rebuild, which will be even more difficult given the inflated prices often bandied around.
I agree.. if the Allams were gonna get rid of SB, they shouldnt have waited so long. mind you, I think we'll be fine this season. anywhere above 18th, will be a successful season given the players that we have got.
Its going to need some creativity with the squad or a word in Elmo's ear. Don't shoot me, but based on having had experience of playing centre back and holding a line etc, does anyone think that Jake could fill a full backs position and let Elmo play further forward, or do people think he'll get outpaced in a full back role.
I'm sure he could manage it. He played there for us once before. Leicester at home I think it was, when they were bottom of the league but beat us. I still wouldn't do it there. I think Elmo is fine at RB. In fact, and I know I'm in a minority here but I prefer him as a full back to on the wing. His strength is in running from deep and overlapping. When he's on the wing he can't do that as easily and often looks like him and the fullback are getting in each other's way. He doesn't have the guile on the ball that players who I would consider proper wingers do. Snodgrass is our best example.
