I would be happy with the 3 of them dont know anything about maclean but if Pop Robson has owt to do with it the lad must have what it takes to make it. Bellamy is the type of player you want playing for you but not against you. He can score goals and set them up. SWP just needs a fresh start he was great at city the first time and he played well for chelsea. He would be a great addition to the squad I would be happy with this as our line up for Liverpool if they signed. ------------------Westwood / Mig-------------------- Brown---------Turner-----------Bramble---------Bardo ------------------------Catts------------------------ ------------Gardener---------------Colback----------- ------------Sess----------------------Bellamy-------- --------------------------Gyan----------------------
If we get all 3 and with O'Shea rated as only 50/50 I would go with... ---------------- Mignolet ---------------- Bardsley --- Bramble -- Brown - Richardson ------- Gardner ---------- Cattermole ---- Wright Phillips - Sessegnon ---- Bellamy --- ----------------- Gyan ------------------ subs Turner, O'Shea, Westwood, Vaughan, Larsson, Ji, Wickham
If we get the new 3, then this looks brilliant. Bloody hell- look at the strength of the bench! If we don't get anyone else in, then same formation, Larsson on the right, Vaughn/Colback on the left..
Reckon the defence looks pretty weak, until O'Shea gets fit. The rest looks cracking, inc, subs. And hopefully still got Gordon to come back......
---------------Krul----------------- Simpson - Taylor - Coloccini - Enrique ------ Cabaye -------- Tiote ------- --- Barton -- Ben Arfa -- Jonas ---- ---------------Ba----------------- Subs: Harper, Williamson, Gosling, Marveaux, Vuckic, Abeid, Best/new striker Which one is stronger I wonder...
In my honest opinion I would rather have Mignolet than Krul the backline would take Colo and Enrique over Bramble and Richardson Tiote over Cattermole Not sure about Cabaye as will have to see how he does in the prem would take our attackive 3 over yours, Ben Arfa is always injured would take Gyan everytime
You'd have Shaun Wright-Phillips over Barton? Seriously? By the way, I'm going on pure ability here. Forgetting about current situations or how often they're injured or what they'd be like as signings and so on. Krul = Mignolet (first team football and his international caps for Holland have given him experience which means he's really, really improved lately, so I'd put them on par) Bardsley > Simpson S Taylor > Bramble Colo > Brown Enrique > Richardson Cabaye > Gardner (ONLY if Cabaye manages to maintain the same type of play and pinpoint passing as he did in pre-season, cos it was superb) Tiote > Cattermole Barton > Wright Phillips Ben Arfa > Sessegnon Bellamy > Jonas As for the striker: If Ba maintains the same sort of goalscoring record as he did last season with West Ham, Ba > Gyan If not, Gyan > Ba I really can't tell at the moment. Now that seems awfully biased, but that's honestly just what I think, and if I did it any differently, I know I'd just be being generous to Sunderland squad on purpose so I don't get the inevitable grief from you guys. But hey, may as well be honest. PS: I think Larsson is better than Wright-Phillips.
Colo, Enrique, Tiote, Barton and Ben Arfa ARE all top players though, so I'd struggle to omit them so they can give way to the likes of Bramble, Brown, Richardson, Cattermole, Wright-Phillips and Sessegnon (who's a top player, but so is Ben Arfa). Maybe I'm a little blinkered, but if I am, I'm not doing it on purpose. It's just what I think. I'd be interested to see other peoples views.
I'd prefer to see what teams we can realistically put out not one including players we haven't got yet (SWP/Bellamy) or ones that are injured (HBA) or ones that may not get another game (Barton - not sure about this one though, a big game so he may play.)
Right now? Hmmm. -----------------Krul-------------- Simpson - S Taylor - Colo - Enrique Jonas - Cabaye - Gosling - Marveaux ---------------Vuckic-------------- -----------------Ba--------------- Probably the best we could put out. Still reasonably strong, but the likes of Tiote, Ben Arfa and Barton being omited obviously make it quite a bit weaker.
aye, things look a bit different when you lose a player or two from your stongest team, that may be biggest problem this season, not enough quality to come in when injuries/suspensions start to bite. ****ed if I know what our strongest team is at the moment. Don't even thing Bruce knows it yet either.
I wouldn't give him the steam off my ****e mate. With absolute monotonous regularity, this floppy knobbed tit **** breaks his neck to come on our board to offer his unwanted drivel about everything SAFC. If we were linked to Rooney, Messi and Iniesta they would just be ****e signing or over rated. The SAFC jealousy simply oozes out of his every orifice and manifests itself in the utter horse ****e he spews out every day. As I said, the steam off my ****e wouldn't be offered his way.
What a croc of absolute freshly laid steaming horse ****. Usual fayre then from the blinkered and deluded baffoon.
With Ba though, he scored 5 in 2 games 3 against WBA and 2 against Wigan, then he had 2 in 10 for the other games 1 against Man City, cant remember who the other one was against. its like SAF dropping Berbatov for the CL final, press "Oh no, he has left out the PL top scorer, he isnt happy" etc etc, but Berbatov scored 5 goals in 1 half earlier in the season, and i think got 20 before/in March, but he done bog all else after it. yes 7 goals in 12 games is impressive, but i bet the West Hams fans wish he had done it over a few games, rather than nearly all in 2 games, they may still be playing PL football if he did. Also not saying he is a bad player, just saying he may not be as good or prolific as the mags make him out to be. PS: even Leon Best got a hat trick last season. PPS: before any toon fans say "all you sunderland supporters wanted him" I was never one of them.
Of course we are always going to be biased towards our own teams its just the way it is. In my mind Barton and Enrique would be the only two I would have possibly Colo and thats me being really honest as I see it. So for me two of the 3 I might have probably won't even be there next season so then I would rather have my full team. Ben Arfa I believe will be a fantastic player but I would like to see how he copes in the premier over a few month period. I am not sold on Cabeye only because he looks a little lightweight for a premier midfielder and my mag mate who has seen him play in the friendlies agrees with me (however if he can overcome the agression and pace of the premier he also could be a fantastic player). So for now happy with my lot and looking forward to a cracking season ahead.
