Going onto play 170 games for the Tigers from 1996 to 2000, ex-skipper Joyce soon became City's caretaker coach two years into his stay at Boothferry Park, following the departure of Mark Hateley. Staging a remarkable turnaround in the face of financial ruin, 'City's Great Escape' in the 1998/99 campaign was complete under Joyce's leadership. After Stephen Clemence's exit to join ex-City boss Steve Bruce at Aston Villa, Tigers head coach Phelan now wants an experienced assistant and sees Joyce as that man, according to reports. Bruce was also interested in bringing Joyce to the Midlands, but remaining in the Premier League is more appealing to the 51-year-old. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/manc...9818252-detail/story.html#6XGeJGulXjOvDgX3.99
Doesn't MP know WJ is held in high regard here? Everyone knows if you're a manager you don't bring someone in who's gonna take your job! Come on MP think about it?
We really shouldn't be thinking about our next manager when we've just appointed one. But this is an Allam club so.
The Second Coming by the Stone Roses, never as good as the first time, was Brian Horton? was Colin Appleton? I like Joyce though and he has spent his time in the wilderness of Old Trafford well and I forgive him the two fingers at Kempton.
Agree with what you say, although he might want to go somewhere were he's appreciated, Mourinho tends to buy rather than promote from within the club setup.
in the lower divisions years ago, im not sure that counts much now. Why not give it to Brian Little then
WJ may well be interested in us as a coach. But with a view to getting the managers job in the future? I'm not so sure. The last I heard, he said that he didn't want to manage clubs because he was sick of club owners and chairman not knowing what they were doing. I'm not entirely convinced he would make an exception for Ehab.......
